I got an email offer from 5pm for an overnight stay including breakfast, 3 course a la carte meal and a bottle of wine for £130. Great deal. The hotel is in a very old converted building and getting to your room is an adventure in itself. Our offer included an upgraded room which was in the eaves of the... More

On our way up to Scotland we stayed at the Hotel du Vin in Harrogate and then in this one on Edinburgh. Our room in Edinburgh was a fraction of the size for the same price comparatively speaking though comfortable enough. The stone building, an old asylum, is really interesting and there's a lovely little galleried bar area. If you're... More

We stayed at the end of April taking advantage of their Friday night deal of dinner, bed and breakfast for 2 people for £149. What a bargain! I've never been to Edinburgh but decided to go with my husband for a birthday treat without the children. Firstly, Edinburgh is a beautiful city. We both loved it. And the visit was... More

Only had one night but the hotel was very well presented and ideally located. Lovely room and lovely breakfast. Great service and must be good as Nicole Kidman and Colin Firth stayed when we did. One slight nag (heating system was loud at night). That apart loved the stay and would return.

This is a lovely Hotel in a great location. Only few minutes walk from the Royal Mile. Breakfast was good and staff were friendly and helpful. Our room lacked chest of drawers to put our clothes in so had to use our suitcases. One morning the shower broke, but it was immediately repaired by the time we got back in... More

Those who know DuVin probably agree with me that Malmaison brought nothing to the brand. That said on this visit the place was, as before comfortable and stylish with good staff, and cheaper prices. The place drove my wife mad though, because of 1) Mood lighting but no good for applying the slap! 2) A hairdryer but no way of... More

We have just returned form a lovely break in stunning Edinburgh , made all the more relaxing by the lovely Hotel Du Vin. It is in an excellent position to discover this gorgeous city , everything is easily walked to from here and the smashing Grassmarket area with a great hat shop and Walker Slater Scots clothes shop to entice... Second time staying here, beautiful rooms (stayed in a superior room last time, opted for a standard room this time and although much smaller still very nice) Rooms of the best quality, including Nespresso machines! Staff really polite. Loved the breakfast. Will definitely be back.

We stayed in the Moet & Chandon room which was a superior room. We were slightly disappointed by the size of the room having stayed in a few other HDVs and it was lacking a chest of drawers to put clothes into. The only other problem we had was with the shower which leaked onto the bathroom floor when used... More

I have just spent three days at Du vin, Edinburgh. A pleasent surprise and a a place to remember. I was a single guest at the room Moët & Chandon. Nothing really, was usual, everything had a positive twist of good taste of style and quality, as the plumbing and the contents of the minibar. The shower was like summer... More
