As already stated in previous reviews, Karen (the host) is definitely the best host we’ve ever encountered while traveling, anywhere. Karen is most hospitable, kind, gave us so much information about the city. In the morning, she prepares breakfasts for all the gusts in the house, and while cooking in the kitchen you can hear her singing out loud :)... More

I agree with many of the other posters that Karen offsets some otherwise marginal things about this B&B. She couldn't be more friendly and helpful. And her breakfasts are delicious. The locations isn't bad at all and, once you understand the bus service a bit, it takes no time to get to downtown. As far as the room itself, I... More

Spent a lovely weekend at the Adam Drysdale and must thank the host for her friendly, caring attitude and also for some excellent tips on where to go and where not to go! The b and b is very central and provides an ideal base for exploring Edinburgh. The rooms were bright and clean. The breakfast was first class!

Got tickets off hubby for Christmas for Friday 2nd March for Sarah Millican at the Playhouse Edinburgh, We decided to make a weekend of it and where as we would normally do the forward booking at either Travelodge or Premier Inns we needed somewhere we could do parking which wouldn't cost an arm and a leg. So I did the... More

List of disappointments 1. As mentioned in a previous review of this B&B we also had to wait for 10 minutes when we arrived. Landlady claimed that she was told a later time but we knew what time we specified on the phone to the booking agency she works with earlier in the day. Miscommunication between the agency and the... Quite an opening, extremely vindictive, which has at once shocked and saddened me. Shocked because you seemed so happy and relaxed throughout your stay and saddened that you chose to say nothing throughout your stay and only mentioned your en-suite disappoinment on the morning of your departure when paying. Anyway, 1. you or I do not communicate verbally with the... More

Myself and 2 friends had the triple on-suite room. To be perfectly honest the house needs some money spending on it, BUT, and this is a big BUT, Karen the host out ways the negatives. She is so friendly and helpful. The breakfast is very good and always served with a big smile and all the information on Edinburgh you... More

These two poor ladies, mother and daughter, did not enjoy their stay sadly but I would suggest that is more to do with their disposition than the reasons given here. On my return from a 2 day break I contacted Scottish Accommodation through whom they had booked. They keep records of all correspondence and they informed me of the exact... More

We stayed at Adam Drysdale for 7 days in August 2011 and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Karen is amazing! She cooked a great, fabulous, large breakfast, entertained us with stories, engaged all guests so we all felt comfortable and provided local tips to restaurants and events to ensure we had a great stay. Adam Drysdale is close to a park,... More
