Check very carefully that no special events are occuring in Edinburgh. when you want to stay. The rates escalate tremendously. We paid £99 for a room only (I did get a free newspaper)! Staff very friendly and helpful. The hotel bedrooms and public rooms are tired. Restaurant food is well prepared and served although slow. The Buckstone is cheap and... More

About a 15 minute taxi ride from Edinburgh Waverly station. Quiet area with a room overlooking a road but no noticeable traffic noise. This hotel has a rare quality of managing to keep a tasteful old world ambience without any sings of fatigue often found in other hotels that try for this. Helpful staff and a most pleasant bistro bar... More

Satisfaction and value is dependant on your expectations. We selected this hotel in part based on the fact that we did not wish to be in downtown Edinburgh. The location is close to the motorway with free parking and the bus to the city at the door. If you are arriving by train, there are likely better downtown options. I... More

We revisited this hotel in mid February, over 20 years after having our wedding reception here. We had the 4 Poster room overlooking the front of the hotel, and although there were some minor signs of wear and tear (en suite), the overall impression for me was of a 4* room rather than 3*. The massive television mounted on the... More

Lovely hotel with lots of character. Not the most modern in decor but its very clean and well maintained. The food in the restaurant is a little expensive if you are on an expenses budget but well worth a try. The food in the bistro is fabulous and very well presented and also great value for money. Lovely view of... More

Best Western Hotels are all independantly operated and so the quality can differ quite a bit. I booked this one on the advice of a company I was visiting on a business trip. Check in was a bit slow. The receptionist (who seemed to be from Eastern Europe) was trying to help an American with some directions and spent several... More

We had a wonderful time at the Braid Hills hotel. I found the styling of the hotel to be more 4 star than 3. There was a beautiful staircase and the room was very classic. There was a lovely ceramic tea set including tea pot in the room which I though was a lovely touch. I am growing tired of... More

I usually find dthe Best Western always give value and the staff attitude is very helpful, this is no exception. They all take pride in the service and I was warmly greeted and even had the manager checking that the room was warm enough. For the business traveller they provide WIFI and a decent desk and plenty of power sockets.... More
