The hotel property itself is above average and is located approximately one mile from the Museums and Edinburgh Castle--so very walkable. The reception staff people were friendly and helpful. The rooms were large with high ceilings and the bathroom clean. However, Edinburgh is undertaking a major construction project on the street running perpendicular to the street on which the hotel... Nice clean hotel in very good location, 2 minutes from Haymarket Railway Station and 7 mins walk to Princess Street. Hotel room was large and airy with beautiful high ceilings, the beds though were a bit uncomfortable. Drink prices at the bar were really expensive.

I booked the Hilton online for the Edinburgh Half Marathon this weekend. I wanted to be quite central to make sure I could get away quickly on a short one night stay from London. A few days before, they notified me they had overbooked (how can that happen with modern systems, except where some other booker had pushed me out... More

A nice townhouse property with easy an easy 10 minute walk to the centre of Edinburgh. As an Elite Hilton HHonors member i'm usually given an upgraded room but nothing else, However after filling in a hotel comments card on a previous stay i was contacted to say they were planning to offer an additional VIP package Which on this... Nice Hilton and fairly centrally located. Rooms are ver small and typically for the UK Hilton's. Would stay there again, but probably not for leisure travel. Clean, convenient and no fuzz.

We stayed here last july for our anniversary, after booking i read the reviews and i have to say i was a bit worried, all unfounded! we didnt stay in the main part of the hotel we were in the extention over the road, and allthough the corridors to the guest rooms seemed a bit dated, the room itself was... Stayed in a room at the front at the Haymarket end of the road. Compressor running in the roadworks outside all night; then work started in earnest before 0700 - pneumatic drills etc. Got very little sleep, if you are going to stay here ask for a room at the back. These works are ongoing and here for some time.

As those of you who are frequent travellers will know, not all Hiltons are equal. Some are rated 4 star and push eagerly at the five star end of things; while some four star Hiltons drag their feet at the three star boundary. My recent experience of the Hilton Grosvenor suggests that it is firmly in the latter category. The... More

If you manage to book this hotel for a bargain rate, you'll be fine, the breakfast is adequate and the location ok although if you are planning to arrive by car, with the current roadworks all over Edinburgh and just outside the hotel, finding the place is a nightmare, then finding the nearest parking even worse. myself and a group...
