Caledonian Backpacker's is the quintessential hostel experience--filled with colorful art and characters in a super location. Great bar and rooms and amenities. Super choice for the young, adventurous or budget conscious traveler.

This place is FAR! Trust me, Edinburgh is way larger than it looks. From the train station and downtown this place is a good long walk down a basic shopping street. Very poor. Window in our room would not close, about half metre space, all day and night! Two showers per floor with transparent screens, two toilets and no urinals (for males), one toilet was out of paper and the next day out of order! The bar was dull and had creepy people, and the barman decided he wanted to finish... More
