We had a great weekend away at The Rutland. The location is second to none; the rooms are clean and beautifully decorated; the staff extremely helpful and welcoming. Lots of nice touches eg GHD straighteners in the room, muffins on arrival etc. Only negative is the noise - but if you book a hotel in a trendy, central area you... More

Stayed here over the weekend the Edinburgh Marathon was on - when everything else appeared to be completely over-priced. Had a really great stay - the rooms are very nicely decorated, the interior has great ambience, and everything you might need has been thought of and provided. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The location just at the end... More

Overall I had a pleasent stay, my room was very clean, very big and spacious and with some nice additional touches with the muffin and magazines. Modern bright decor. I'm a light sleeper but despite having a room (room no 1) on the first floor facing the busy road, my room was quiet and I had a sound nights sleep... More

After much research on the internet, I chose this hotel for my husbands 40th birthday surprise. We stayed in a standard room for 2 nights. The room was furnished beautifully and immaculately clean. The extra touches such as the mini bar, hair straighteners, surround sound and fabulous bathroom made in stand out from the average hotel. Complimentary muffins on arrival... More

Perfect location for old and new city sights. The hotel has a modern, ritzy feel while still retaining its classic facade. Our room had beautiful decor, although smallish, typical of a city hotel, it was very comfortable. The reception staff were wonderful, nothing was too much trouble. We ate in their excellent restaurant twice, beautiful meal. but you pay for... More

This boutique hotel has all the qualities I look for in a hotel, cleanliness, polite staff, quality rooms and beds, beautiful food and a excellent location. The staff made our short stay in Edinburgh a delight, from the moment we arrived they took care of us, offering us great tourist advice and answering any questions we had, they even had... More

My colleague and I were booked into The Rutland Hotel on the May Bank Holiday weekend and found it to be of a truly excellent standard. The central location is perfect for sight seeing, some of which you can do from your hotel window. The reception area is everything you would expect from a boutique hotel (many state 'boutique - few... We wanted somewhere special to spend a couple of nights to get away from it all and we certainly found that at The Rutland. As soon as we arrived we were welcomed into the hotel and taken to our fantastic room via a brief but ample guided tour of the hotel. The service was excellent both in the hotel itself... More

We booked a three night stay for our wedding Anniversary and have no complaints at all. From the check in, to the bottle of bubbly and card as well as the rose as it was a special occasion. The reception staff were very good, the junior suite (number 6) luxurious, the decor lovely. We would definatley stay again. We only... More
