Excellent hotel in general. We had a fantastic room at the second floor with view to Grassmarket and the Castle. The beds are amazingly comfortable and the room quite spacious. You have some extras at the room that are always welcome and everything is perfect clean (I still remember the shower gel fragrance, delicious) and if it's true that the... More

Stayed here for three nights in March with my fiancee. Upon arrival we were informed that our room had been upgraded to one with a view of the castle - and what a view it is! Tea & coffee was replenished each day, the beds (yes, there were two double beds!) made and even a packet of jelly beans left... More

our first impression of the hotel was the cleanliness of the entrance area . the greeting and welcome from the reception desk made my wife and i feel very welcome indeed . the friendliness of all your staff we met was second to none . the late evening noise from the street below would indeed be lessened if the window... Stopped here about three times a year since it opened and think it is in an ideal location. The views from the Heights Restuarant are brilliant and the food always top quality. Always ask for a room with a castle view and be careful where you park your car - there are some rather large pigeons who take pleasure on... More

The staff is friendly and helpful and the location is near perfect. The beds are wonderfully soft and there's a free internet access and a printer on the first floor (which is handy when you wish to do your flight check-in in advance). Apart from the dirty towel (one out four) we were given on our third day and the... More

No drawers – stayed for three nights lived out of suitcases. Very little area to hang clothes. Shower not powerful enough to wash soap off. It was an adjoining room, could listen to the conversation of the gentleman in the next room each night. Relaxing one morning listening to three housekeepers arguing outside of our room over who got the... More

Thank you for taking the time to post your review regarding your recent stay with us. I was very disappointed to read that we failed to meet your expectations on this occasion. Overall really pleased with this hotel, Reception staff were very friendly and made us feel welcome from the start. Maintenance staff fixed a faulty shaver socket within 12 hours of it being reported with no fuss at all, so all in all positive. 4 star rating is more a reflection on the room getting to the point where it could... Overall a very poor stay. Arrived at the hotel to find people sleeping on the stairs leading up to the reception desk. Didn't think much of it at the time, or of finding that the hotel had left complimentary earplugs in our room. We had booked a Superior room as they all have a view of the castle. What a... More

Modern and comfortable this hotel benefits from its view of Edinburgh Castle and over the Grassmarket. The Gym is tiny but the small pool was a pleasure to swim in. Great breakfast and good conferencing facilities. Well located for walking to the EICC or the Golden Mile.
