The hostel is very nice and has a lot to offer. The facilities are great, too. The rooms are small, but not smaller than in other hostels. The bathrooms are rather old and could do with a refurbishing. The location is both the greatest asset of the hostel and its greatest weakness. It is right next to the ocean, in... More

I spent 3 nights with some friends in the Globetrotter Inn. Over all it was a nice stay. The rooms were spacious enough and clean. The bathrooms were shared but very clean. It has a big cafeteria and breakfast was good. There's a common room to hang out but I missed the typical backpackers atmosphere. It's a quiet inn. The... More

I went there with a friend of mine. We arrived really late in the night (around 1am I think) but everything went smoothly. We had just to wait a little bit for the night manager to get back from the basement (where they wash the bed linen and stuff). The first night, we stayed in an individual room. A bit... More

We booked two nights in a private room at this hostel going on the good reviews on TripAdvisor for the last two nights during our trip through Scotland. We experienced as nominally friendly with a 'you really should be glad I am talking to you at all' attitude. The beds were worn and gave me pain in my back after... More

My first impression of Globetrotter Inn Edinburgh was that it was very dirty. The toilets were filthy and the bar room smelt musty and the tables were dirty. However, we arrived just before the cleaners had done their rounds. First impressions aside, I found the staff to be polite and helpful, excellent extras (free breakfast and WiFi, a TV room... More

The hostel runs a shuttle service about every hour to Waterloo Place, even during the night until 3 am. Nevertheless I found the hostel very noisy. Beds adjacent to the hallway are subject to lots of noise from the cracking floor of people wallking to the bathrooms at the back of the building from very early in the morning. Wifi... More

All well organized, clean, and friendly staff, they helped me because I had a terrible and bad experience with Globetrotters in Glasgow that it´s nothing to do with them. Globetrotters Edinburgh is so beautiful, you will feel so fine there.

This is a very large hostel which benefits from being on the bank of the Firth of Forth and away from the bustle of the main city centre. There is a large, well equipped kitchen with lots of fridges & freezers so there should always be somewhere to keep your food but be warned the on site shop is stupidly... More

I took a group of Scouts to Edinburgh for an event and stayed 2 nights here. My first impressions were; organised, clean, functional, friendly. These impressions were warranted. I have never stayed in a private hostel before and I can't think that they're all like this. Very good facilities and a fabulous location, right on the beach.
