When we arrived, wary from a train ride from London, we were greeted warmly by Aileen, and even more warmly by a complimentary dram of whiskey in our room! The room was spotless, our breakfasts were delicious and made to order. Aileen was a great help with suggesting ways to get into town, and what we should see. Wonderful stay,... More

We just stayed here in March 13 for four nights. We were in the Caledonian room which was huge and the bathroom was also big. Very comfortably furnished and clean. Aileen is an amazingly friendly hostess who makes everyone feel welcome. The house is well situated for walking to Princes street. A very hearty breakfast was provided with lots of... More

After 30 hours of travel, we were happily greeted by Aileen and introduced to her warm hospitality. The "Caledonian" room was spacious, warm, and comfortable, especially compared to the rest of the rooms on our trip. Breakfast was fantastic - we took the traditional Scottish breakfast but other options were available. We had good conversation with the other guests in... More

First time in Edinburgh. The B&B, located bang in the middle between the city center and Murrayfield, was a great choice. Aileen was very warm and welcoming, the breakfast was fabulous and the room was beautyful and provided all we needed. Chocolates and whiskey in the room upon arrival and chocolate birthday cake to go were additional pluses. Thank you... More

First timers in Edinburgh, after staying with Aileen it definitely won't be the last. Travelled with my husband for his birthday. We stayed two nights at this fantastic B&B, in the African themed room. The welcome was lovely, Aileen had been looking out for us, and welcomed us in on arrival. She took us down to our room, pointing out... More

My husband and I loved staying at this bed & breakfast for our time in Edinburgh, which was a part of a larger trip to England, the Republic of Ireland, and the Netherlands. This was our favorite place out of the entire trip. Aileen was very welcoming and friendly. She's truly a perfect host. Our room was impeccably clean, comfortable,... More

Just back in Belfast after 4 wonderful days in Edinburgh to see the All Blacks v Scotland at Murrayfield. We took some time beforehand to find a B&B which was located close to the city and the stadium. We read the recent reviews on The Victorian Town House and chose it because of them (incidentally, the whisky was a clincher... More

This is our 5th or 6th visit (we have lost count) to this wonderful bed and breakfast hosted by an equally wonderful Aileen. Standards are impeccable in every aspect and nothing is too much trouble. Its a real pleasure to stay and we are planning our next visit already. You will not be disappointed!

Myself and my boyfriend stayed here for three nights while on a weekend away. We had such a great time! Aileen, who owns this B&B, was brilliant. She was so welcoming and friendly and gave us some great tips on what to do in Edinburgh. The room we stayed in was really cozy. It was much bigger than I had... More

We stayed in the B&B for a weekend and found it to be excellent value for money. Though there was not any dedicated parking, with the help of Aileen, we easily found free parking nearby. The location is wonderful and the walk into Princes Street and the bars and restaurants of the West End was short and very beautiful. The... More
