When I travel to Glasgow it is mostly for a concert so always try and stay in the Crowne Plaza Glasgow as it is connected to the SECC, and normally have a great stay. Not on this occasion however. When i arrived the staff were not very welcoming which is always a downfall in my opinion. The receptionist left the...

Bought one of the executive suites as a night away for my partners birthday. To put it simply, it's one of the best hotels I've stayed at. The staff were very welcoming, and showed us to our room. The views to the south and east of the city from the top floor of the hotel were stunning (apart from the...

I had purchased a voucher from a discounted website of which there are many today. The voucher cost £65.00 and this entitled 2 people to afternoon tea with a glass of sparkling wine, overnight accommodation and a full English breakfast. Initially our expectations weren't that high as this was a promotional rate.
On arrival we parked at the hotel (£6...

SECC is not within easy walking distance of the centre of Glasgow- so this is one of the hotels to use if you are going to a conference (not otherwise). Now looking tired - but the room decor was OK. Plenty of evidence of money pinching/lack of investment - 5/6 channels on the 1980's TV set and no free internet....

For anyone attending an event at the SECC, the Crowne Plaza is ideally located as it is directly linked by a covered walkway. There is ample parking (£6 per night for hotel guests) with the car park also linked to the hotel by a covered walkway.
The hotel decor and furnishings are very dated and tired looking. In particular the...

What is good - friendly staff, good rooms, clean and spacious, great location, gym small but nice and well equiped and the weather was fantastic!!
Let down - £15 a day for proper internet (you can pay for the cheaper and slower option if you are not on business) is a disgrace! The worst I had ever paid before this...

Stayed here a few times with dinner bed & breakfast - dinner buffet was very high quaility with alot of choice. Im not 100% happy with location to get into heart of Glasgow - wouold be great if they put a free shuttle bus on. Sauna, Pool & Gym are very mordern and well managed.
Good hotel spoilt by 1 or 2 niggles. Booked 3 rooms for the Scottish Cup Final in Glasgow. Check in was quick and relatively easy. Rooms on the 16 th floor were spacious and well equipped and included access to the club lounge on the 15th floor. Lounge provided beers, wines and spirits and canapes between 5.30 till 8, despite...

I was staying here to attend a large congress held at the SECC. And for that purpose, the Crowne Plaza cannot be beat as it is joined to both the Clyde auditorium and the main SECC by passage ways which means you don't get wet when it rains (which it mostly did when I was there). Getting there from the...
