Our stay here was overall very good. The hostess was very friendly and answered all our questions very well. She also provided us with maps and information on the city. The room was spacious and comfortable. It was not en-suite, which was made known to us before purchasing. However there was a sink and mirror in the room which we... More

We had a wonderful room looking toward the Kelvingrove Gallery and Museum. It was wonderfully decorated and fitted with many wondrous pieces of technology, more than we needed for sure. Only drawback was that there was no shower cubicle, just an open bath that you sit in and shower. Wonderful linen and good toiletries added to the appeal. I like... More

I stayed at the Alamo recently for my first visit to Glasgow for a stag golf weekend and was very impressed. A perfect location in the West end of Glasgow with very comfortable rooms and beautiful decor. The staff were very friendly and breakfasts spectacular. The perfect location for anyone visiting Glasgow.

Stayed there May 2012. The single rooms are compact but adequate for traveller. Hyper clean and modern bathrooms and help yourself breakfasts to die for. Perfectly located for West End Glasgow. Manager Kristina went out of her way to help me and Katya was cheerfully friendly

We came to the Alamo straight from a full on five star experience in a B&B in Edinburgh so perhaps we were more critical than usual. However given the cost of our room, the facilities and especially the breakfast really didn't cut it. On the plus side, we had a very warm welcome from the owner, whom we didn't see... More

We stayed in a very grand room with an ensuite bath under one of the windows. There was a comfortable sitting area under the other window as well. We looked out towards Glasgow University over the park. The host, Steve, was friendly and informative. One of the highlights of our visit to Scotland.

Couldn't believe the fantastic welcome and service we received when we rang up on spec for a room. Lovely spacious, comfortable rooms at great prices with a fantastic breakfast provided, even more impressed that they were not even fazed by my dietary requirements and catered for me without problem. Would definitely recommend the Alamo and would go back.

The Alamo is right next to Kelvingrove Park, one of the nicest parts of Glasgow--the University of Glasgow, Kelvingrove art museum are right next door. It's very easy to reach via bus. The subway is a good 10 minute walk. Spent 3 nights there, very clean and quiet. I had a single in the downstairs, and the bathrooms are also... More

A DVD library you can borrow from - friendly staff - comfy rooms - great beds - character - an in-house cat - a lovely breakfast - amazing views of the Kelvingrove Park. What more could one ask for? I couldn't recommend this guest house enough.
