We own a timeshare week at this resort and visit regularly out with this period. Great pool for the kids and 9 hole golf course which is ideal for beginners to. Great Quiz on a Sunday night. Have to agree food is over priced. How ever lots of choice in Aviemore well worth a visit

We were not staying at the resort but were in a house close by so decided to go for dinner one night. We had booked a table for 7.30 and got a call an hour later to say that the restaurant couldn't take us at that time but they could offer us 6.15 or 8.00. Not a problem we thought,... More

Great place in Aviemore, but out of Aviemore! We swapped our week for one of the Speyside apartments through RCI. The apartments are great, clean and up to a very good standard - highly recommended. The apartments themselves ours no. 8 was less than 50 metres from the River Spey where we enjoyed walks with our dog along the River... More

We didn't stay at the Dalfaber but had week-long leisure passes. The setting & the hotel are lovely and the leisure facilties are good and spotlessly clean. However, on day 2 of our holiday, the jacuzzi broke down and there seemed to be no concerted effort made to have it fixed. In fact, by the end of our holiday, it... More

We stayed for a 4 day midweek break at Dalfaber. We found the Alvie Lodge to be everything we needed , it was clean , well furnished to a high standard. It is surrounded in breath taking scenery . Lovely warm swimming pools, steam room and sauna . The country club has a well stocked bar . Restaurant food was average... More

My family and I had the pleasure of eating at the Scottish Steak Club at Dalfaber while we stayed at the Macdonald Highland resort. My wife and I had roast of the day which was beef and it was a lovely, big portion with plenty roast potatoes and veg. Our boys had meals off the childrens menu which too was... More

I almost didn't go to this resort based on some of the reviews I had read. I was pleasantly surprised when I arrived. The 2 bed chalets are small (very little space in the bedrooms) and I agree that they are only suitable for 2 adults and 2 children but the refurbished units are nicely furnished and have everything you... Our daughter chose Dalfaber as the venue for a family Christmas get-together and thirteen of us shared three very different properties. The largest property, recently refurbished, was superb and definitely 5*. My husband and I,plus the dog, were in chalet 30, which was a cosy property and, although not refurbished, was absolutely fine with a spectacular view of the mountains. Our... More

Had a short break here with my husband and 21 yr old son. Booked directly with macdonald resorts so that I could ensure we stayed in a refurbished apartment as I had reservations after reading some reviews. Got a lovely Cosy lodge nearby reception , pool and restaurant. The staff could not have been more polite and friendly. Food in... More

My family have owned here for 30 years and have seen the whole site grow from a load of wooden chalets with a few brick lodges, to many more properties and a full sports & leisure centre with dining facilities - plus the village centre being torn down, rebuilt & much improved on what used to be there. However the... More
