I stayed here last year for three nights in April 2012. We recieved a warm welcome and staff were very friendly. The double room was very comfortable. The hotel is right beside the train station which is ideal when carrying luggage. The buffet breakfast was awesome! Best breakfast we ever had! Lots to choose from and hot food was piping... More

The luggage I had with me was worrisome as I had no transfers in Inverness but to my pleasant surprise my hotel, The Royal Highland Hotel, was adjoining to the railway station! Phew! I was relieved! The young lady at the reception was very helpful and always smiling which was good to see. She helped me a couple of times... More

When Queen Victoria fell in love with The Highlands, it spawned a whole wave of tourism. To accommodate the influx of visitors, new hotels sprung up all over Scotland. When trains became the preferred mode of traveling, many of these new hotels were built beside train stations for the convenience of travelers. One of these "railway hotels" was the Royal... More

Having read some negative reviews previously posted, we approached our stay purchased through a groupon deal with slight trepidation. How wonderfully wrong we were pleased to be, the hotel is beautiful - the granduer of the bygone age of sumptious rail hotels coupled with the modern ASH restaurant resulted in our enjoyment of both the old and new. Staff were... More

We spent last weekend at this hotel and had a lovely time. I had bought the deal last year and it had to be redeemed before 5th April but circumstances prevented us from being able to travel then. Noting negative to say about this lovingly restored hotel in the grand scale. Our room was large and comfortable. The bathroom had the largest tub I have ever seen in a hotel and was perfect for a great soak after walking about the town. Breakfast was very good and varied with something for everyone and dinner was delicious. We had... More

Our stay here was very disappointing and we were glad it was for one night only. We booked a Royal Room which is supposedly one of their premium rooms. It was so small that there was no room for even one armchair. To watch TV you had to sit on the bed. It did not have a bad view; it... More
