We stayed in this hostel for 1 night and booked a double room in advance, paying a little extra for this. The staff in the hostel were friendly and helpful. I felt it was rather over-priced for what you receive but otherwise no other complaints,

Functional, clean hostel. No problems with booking in, or out. Staff friendly and helpful. Twin room comfortable and showers were clean when I was there.

Clean, simple, good value - does what it says on the tin! Good kitchen. If there's a coach party of schoolkids staying you will hear them through the walls, but that's true of most hostels.

We stopped there with a group on the way to the Orkneys and again on our way back. The first time it was very disorganized. Registration took forever and the staff seemed overwhlemed. The only problem I have to point out is the shower on our Family Room. It only had two settings, super-hot or "Hell on Earth". Other than that, an incredible Hostel.

I can only assume this degeneration is linked to the loss of the previous manager.
