Excellent setting, well off the beaten track, the way we like it. We stayed in one of the large suite/rooms, which was well appointed and comfortable. Breakfast was well presented and of good quality. Dinner was pretty good, but not great for the price. We actually had dinner elsewhere on Mull our other two nights for less than half the... More

We had an idyllic stay at Tiroran House May 4-6 and we were treated like royalty. Had the Fuchsia room and it was probably the most comfortable bed we had in in our trip. Lawrence was a gracious and congenial host, and what came from the kitchen was to die for. DO NOT go here and try to lose weight!!... More

Tiroran is beautifully situated in it own grounds and overlooking a sea loch. The house is spectacular and the owners/staff welcoming, charming and friendly. The place is lovely, but  neither of us were convinced that it was worth the £150+ per night for a room. Which is pretty serious cash for this part of the world. In addition, the challenge with... A small mid Victorian country house, with outstanding views, food and hospitality made a perfect getaway on the Ross Of Mull for a special anniversary weekend. Guests meet for a chinwag, sharing enjoyed walks (and sometimes life histories) ,pre- dinner drinks in two sitting rooms before dinner. The sharing of time with strangers, albeit brief, turned out to be more... More

Thank you for your kind review about Tiroran House, i just wanted to take a little time to correct a couple of things that you state about our location because we are not a small country house (10 ensuite bedrooms) on the Ross of Mull but in fact overlook the Ross of Mull from the other side of Loch Scridain... My husband and I decided to stay on the island of Mull in order to visit Iona, and we are so glad that we did. After some internet sleuthing, I picked Tiroran House for our inn. What a gorgeous place in a gorgeous setting! Be aware that Tiroan House is very rural and isolated. It is a long drive to... More

From Laurence's welcome in the mid-afternoon, to saying our farewells five days later, Tiroran House was perfect. Convivial company for pre-dinner drinks, yet intimate tables for two in the conservatory, followed by a good yarn around the fire over a post-dinner dram - I'd recommend the Alt Orain (a house speciality bottling), the Ardbeg, the Laphroaig, or the Ledaig -... Thank you indeed for taking the time to write such a lovely review. Really, I know we keep saying this in responses, but recommendation such as yours can only help - we never take it for granted - and we really do appreciate it. Thank you! Our location is wonderful and convenient for everything so thank you (again) for saying... More

We loved every moment at this special place. From the moment we arrived we were well looked after by Laurence and Katie and their delightful staff. Our only regret was that were only there for two nights, but after a disappointing two nights at Dervaig on the north of the Island, we really appreciated the warm welcome with tea and... More

Lovely setting, lovely welcome, lovely room, lovely service, lovely atmosphere, lovely top-of- the-tree home cooking (that's the aga for you), lovely gardens......shame about the rain on arrival and snow on departure but even the weather did it's best for us in-between. Definitely a place for some quiet comfort when on Mull.

Thank you so much for the 'lovely' review! Thank you very much for the lovely review - just lovely - and so much appreciated. And it is so nice to see the pictures of the otter, hare and sea eagle, we sometimes get the feeling when we tell guests that the eagles are literally overhead or down the road or that the otters are on the beach that... Tiroran is a very elegant small hotel in a beautiful and wild setting, elevated on a hill overlooking lochs and mountains. We stayed 2 nights in the Lavender room last Oct-11– room was beautifully appointed, small and cosy with luxuriously snugly bedding, just perfect after a day exploring Mull and its 15 min weather changes! The hosts - we met... More
