No complaints whatsoever. The hotel was very clean. Staff pleasant and friendly. Room not spacious, but again clean throughout. Tea and coffee facilities available, although kettle did not work but sorted out by the staff straight away. Bar area is large with TV viewing facilites and a very large car park . Hotel is 10 mins away from Dumbarton easily... More

This looks a smart hotel and rooms are good value. However staffing seems rather chaotic - it is often difficult to find a member of staff when you need one. The evening bar food was of quite poor quality. Breakfast is a strange affair - it is priced as an extra and there is a long complex menu - it... More

We drive past this hotel almost every day and finally got round to having a meal there last night. The car park is very dark and there had clearly been some works happening during the day (very uneven) but when we got round to the front door (if you have lights fitted there, turn them on!) we entered a very... Having just been reopened after flood damage we decided to try the refurbushed restaurant. Our bottle of white wine was warm and our replacement came in a large ice filled jug (presumeably from the kitchen) as they did not have any wine chillers. I was finished my starter before my wifes one arrived. After ordering a steak i was told... More

I have to say this hotel is by far the best place to stay and eat in Dumbarton. In comparison with it's sister hotel the Abbotsford it is miles ahead. Since our Last visit the hotel has been totally refurbished and the food is beyond what we expected. The Menu has been updated and im aware that they have a... More

I stayed here two nights in March 2010 - looking to take my mum out for a nice meal for Mothers day. The food was woeful - aside from being so cold we sent it back, it was patently obvious that the food had been cooked long in advance and was just heated up before serving (and they even got... More

We had a great time at Dumbuck Hotel, much better than a stay with a national brand. Friendly staff made us feel very welcome. The hotel was nice and clean, which is very important. The place was showing its age but this some how adds to its charm. Last decorated in the 1980's we thought. Again this made the place... More
