Sol Brotin says, AVOID! The Victoria could be beautiful. Positives: perfect location, hot water, clean comfortable bed, lots of character. NEGATIVES: fllthy carpets, "the last place you want a dirty carpet is where you eat" and musty smell throughout, limeted, bland breakfast and rude night staff. My opinion is; a hotels true purpose is to take a guest to your... More

We were booked to stay at this hotel from 09/02/2011 till 12/02/2011 with Flexibletrips a part of the Thomas Cook Org. We received an e mail from them on 08/02/2011 to inform us that we were being moved to the Gresham Metropole ( A brilliant hotel ). It transpires that the Victoria has closed down as was obvious when we... More

Stunning location, right in city centre, a short walk to the famous Cork food market and cozy little alley-ways leading to other shopping and pubs - close to the bus and train stations. The accommodations and pub/restaurant in the hotel were quaint rather than luxurious. The staff was friendly and helpful - the restaurant server was a prime example a... More

We only decided to stay in the City Centre because of the snow making driving difficult after a night out. I didn't have high expectations from this 2* hotel but even then I was really disappointed. The first room they gave us smelled like it had not had any fresh air in 20 years, the second was filthy (every piece... More

My wife and I just returned from our first trip in Ireland, and we stayed at the Victoria Hotel for one night while touring Cork. I agree with most of the other reviews; the hotel has a lot of character, but could use a little updating. That being said, the location is perfect, within walking distance to all of Cork's... More

This hotel is in the center of Cork and if had a load of work carried out in relation the painting and new carpets would be ok. The carpet in the dining was the worst i have ever seen it was black with dirt as was most of the carpet in the hotel there were no plugs in the bathroom... More

I too was concerned about staying here having read some of the bad reviews, but actually this hotel is fine if you treat it for what it is - impeccably located, basic, clean, well-priced. One friend with us has walking difficulty, so the entrance stairs were a bit of a pain for her, but we managed, and she took the... More

I stayed at the Victoria Hotel for 2 nights. It was €140 for a double- bed room, with a free main course 1 night, and breakfast both mornings. Having read the reviews on here before I left, I was more than a little apprehensive about our visit. In truth however, there was no need to be. The hotel provides exactly... More

Upon our arrival we were not satisfied with our room as it was a smoking room. The front desk staff let us choose between two other rooms which were much better. The rooms were unique and quite large. We were visiting from the USA and somehow managed to leave a bag behind with our passports when we left for Dublin.... More
