This hotel is affordable and the rooms are clean. The hallways are a maze. We had a room at the back of the hotel which was very quiet, however it was a pain to get to the room. Lots of little sets of stairs which was a pain with your luggage. Overall, it was a good deal for the price.

the staff were very accommodating, the building is old so everything isn't perfect, but it is full of old world charm. the window hinges in room 28 need attention. breakfast was fine. very central location.

I stayed here with fellow students from my university in May 2009. I thought this was a good hotel due to its historical significance as the oldest hotel in Kilkenny. It is certainly a charming place, and I enjoyed my stay here. However, travelers should be aware that there is no elevator, and if you're one of the lucky ones... More

We stayed here with friends for three nights in March 2012 and occupied two doubles at the back of the hotel in what we presume to be an annex. The rooms were dated but very clean and also very quiet. King bed, tea/coffee, tv, hair drier. It is a bit of a walk up and down stairs/steps & passages to... More

After an exciting first day of driving on the other side of the road, we were happy to find the Club House was everything Rick Steves said it would be. The rooms were comfortable, the service at the bar was excellent, food was good and the location is great. Parking in the back was a real plus. Our room was... More

2 friends and I stayed there last weekend. Very very close to the city centre, free car park, breakfast was excellent and the staff really friendly. Our (triple) room (#3) was spacious and clean : all that was needed to complete a nice weekend with friends in Kilkenny. It is an old hotel with a lot of character. Don't expect... More

My wife and I and two friends from Cork spent last week end in the Club House and we had a most enjoyable stay. While its difinetly old world it has a certain charm and has the feel of the traditional old Irish hotel about it - the ceiling in the bar/restaurant is wortth a view. We found the staff... More

This hotel is very cheap and is extremely well located for enjoying Kilkenny. Free parking and car park well of the road. If you out for a night out with the lads and just need a place to rest your head- Brilliant. Rooms clean, bathroom small, but good hot shower. Breakfast was good.

When we arrived it smelled like a convent, an old damp musty smell, it gets worse in the rooms. We were charged more then we had originally been told. Arrived at the room to find the cushion on the bed covered in dried in drool. We stayed for one night and in the morning I caught my foot in a... More

This "vintage" (aka old) hotel is extremely well located for enjoying Kilkenny. It's a 5 minute walk to the castle, shopping areas, and night life. They also have a really nice pub and free parking. The problems here, though, are really bad. From the moment you walk in you will notice a musty/moldy smell which gets much worse as you... More
