My wife and I stayed at this b&b while traveling through Ireland on our honeymoon. After leaving Kilkenny and this b&b we both decided that the entire experience (the b&b and the town) was our favorite of the trip. Tom and Val were absolutely wonderful from the very beginning. (Tom had to guide us in over the phone when the... More

Upon checking in to our room we met our hostess, Val...and she made us feel so welcome! She remembered our names & introduced us to the other guests! Our room was very comfortable and breakfast was great! We met others from the US. Val gave us numerous travel tips, suggestions re dinner, etc! She is quite the hostess! She even... More

My wife and I are staying at the Dunromin B&B. Tom and Val are the sweetest people we have met in our travels. Val is a fantastic host and great guide to the city of Kilkenny. From our arrival, we knew the best places to see and she has not been wrong with her suggestions. I will be recommending this... More

My husband I first stayed with Val & Tom in 1998. When we took our 24-year old granddaughter with us in April 2013 we decided to stay with them again. Val and Tom are wonderful hosts and have a lovely home to share. Our rooms were spacious and decorated beautifully, bathrooms and showers had all the amenities we needed, and... More

The Dunromin is a lovely bed & breakfast. The sign to the house is small, so be on the lookout when traveling with a car. There is a small free parking area. When we arrived, Val set out tea and cookies. Our room was clean & spotless and very comfortable. It is a short distance to downtown. We arrived later... More

My wife and I happened to stay here on our honeymoon in 2007, and I had unfortunately forgotten to pack all my vouchers. Our hostess quickly contacted the travel agency and set things up with every other place we would be staying on our travels so there would be no hassles. Lovely rooms, wonderful little garden, great personable advice. A... More

This was our first night's stop after leaving Dublin in our car and Val and Tom are two of the best. Not only did we get lots of useful Kilkenny advice but Val also made a suggestion to our "Well Planned Trip Itineray" and suggested a change. We were going to head to Cahir and over to Kenmare for a... More

We traveled through Ireland the summer of 2012 and stopped for a few nights in Kilkenny. Dunromin B&B was our favorite place we stayed during our trip. Val and Tom are so very kind and accommodating. They really do treat you like family and welcome you into their home. Val has binders of things to do, places to see and... More

Val was a gracious and excellent hostess with terrific suggestions for our travels. We were only able to stay one night but would loved to have stayed longer considering the quality of the accommodations and the pleasant conversation. The B&B is within a short walk from downtown Kilkenny, where we at dinner at one of Val's Pub suggestions (excellent). The... More

Thank you for your very kind remarks about your sojourn here just a few weeks ago. It is most fulfilling for us when visitors show a real interest in our lovely historical city. Indeed it is a labour of love to inform people of the various buildings, pubs, restaurants and musical venues in Kilkenny not to mention the various festivals... More

We stayed with Val and Tom once before in 2010, and boy did we enjoy it! So as you can imagine we were hoping for a similar experience this time, and I can truthfully say it was as good if not better! The friendly conversation, the beautiful rooms, spectacular breakfast (if your lucky a little breakfast music- wink, wink), and... More
