I was welcomed by Bernie with tea, scones and jam. She is a lovely lady, and really makes you feel at home. I had the continental breakfast, which was more than enough, with fruit juice,tea/coffee, fresh fruit - great with Bernie's home made granola sprinkled on it - cereals, yoghurts, scones, home-madecake, bread, jam. Bernie even made me porridge a... More

We were made very welcome by Bernie and would recommend Drumshinnagh to anyone staying in the area. Good food, very clean, lovely views, peaceful. Drumshinnagh will always be the first place we consider staying whilst in Castlebar. John, Catherine and Liz

We stayed for 2 nights in this lovely house that we feel really at home especially the kids. It was like visiting our own relative in a beautiful countryside, which was close to almost all local attractions in county mayo. The food was excellent, a full irish breakfast that we need not to eat lunch on the rest of our... More

I stayed for one night on my way to TullyCross in co. Galway, and I could have stayed longer. Bernie is an amazing host. It was like meeting a dear friend. Wonderful experience, comfortable room, great breakfast, and VERY competitive rates. I will definately return.

Stayed for three nights to a really welcoming place, where children had the space to run outside and be themselves. It is just outside Castlebar, which is great! Thanks a bunch honey bunch ;), you are a fantastic woman. We'll be back if we can.

Breakfasts were huge and perfectly cooked, the bed was seriously the best we have ever slept on and furnishings luxurious. Bernie was so helpful and kind, even looking after my 80-yr-old Mother when neccessary so my partner and I could go out on our own occasionally, without worrying whether she would be OK. Nothing was too much trouble, and our... More

Have stayed here for close to 10 years and wouldn't stay anywhere else. I disagree with the last reviewer as if you want a full cooked breakfast this is the place to go. For 35 Euros you get an amazing cooked breakfast, continental breakfast and your accomodation per night. As stated before most B&B's cost 40 Euros. It has the... More

My boyfriend and I stayed at this B&B for a weekend break back in January. We both had a fantastic time! I found this B&B's website on google, got some reasonable flights into Knock airport (about 40mins drive to B&B) and it lived up to all of our expectations - cheap accomodation, nice rooms, friendly and helpful service, fantastic value... When I spoke with Mrs. Collins, the owner and proprietor of Drumshinnagh House, she said that she wanted to provide cheap accommodation for those traveling to the resort town of Castlebar that was "cozy and comfortable," without having to pay a king's ransom for a fully cooked breakfast. If you're looking for someplace with a full Irish breakfast, than this... More
