This is a well situated pub and near to all the surrounding attractions. There is a separate entrance for guests. The room was spotlessly clean but rather cramped. Shower was excellent but you needed to manouver around the door to get to the toilet. The bedlinen and towels were lovely and the bed was also comfy. However, although there were several... More

We were here 4 years ago for the Harrogate Flower Show. Went stayed here again and were not disappointed. Our hosts Timothy and Pauline were extremely friendly and we couldn't fault anything. Our room had a lovely view of the countryside and had everything that you would want. The bed was especially comfortable and I didn't suffer from a bad... More

Cosy pub come hotel located on a fairly busy A road between Harrogate and Ripon. We enjoyed the relaxed check in process and we pretty much given the run of the place with our own front door key. Our room (numb 8) was spotlessly clean, warm and very cosy. Very large shower made up for the lack of a bath... More

A great place to stay close to Harrogate and Ripley Castle. The welcome was warm, the hosts very obliging and everything from the lovely, spotlessly clean room with a brilliant power shower and fluffy towels to the excellent breakfast with locally sourced ingredients was bang on the money. The real ale on tap from local breweries was well looked after... More

We spent two nights here in a lovely room with all amenities - ask for room 6. We ate in one night and the food was excellent and the breakfasts very good. Tim and Pauline are great hosts and I cannot recommend them highly enough.

Room was spacious and well appointed.Bathroom was fine with a walk in shower. Flat screen TV with freeview. Breakfast was very good with plenty of cereals and fruit compote to choose from followed by the good old English breakfast. Evening meals were fine and good value and well cooked and presented. We ate in the bar as the dining room... More

We stayed here as we were at a wedding in Hemthswaite and then Ripley castle for the reception. This was a perfect location as it was 2 miles from each place. WE arrived on Friday lunchtime and ate in the pub. My husband had one of the best burgers he has ever had; proper homemade food. I had delicious homemade... More

A cheery welcome when we arrived - via the pub entrance. Guest reception area is quaint but needs airing (door & windows are kept closed). Room clean & comfortable, yummee biscuits & Kenco Smooth on the tray! :-) "Chandelier" ceiling light rather low for a 6' man removing a pullover! Ensuite shower room: spotless, spacious cubicle, toiletries provided, fluffiest towels EVER!... More

Fantastic little pub set in a lovely location just a short (7 miles) drive from Harrogate centre. Pauline and Tim make you feel so welcome and provide a gorgeous breakfast with lovely, comfortable rooms. Food served in the pub was equally as good and the pint was excellent. Thank you for a lovely, refreshing break - we will be back!
