My husband an I stayed here on a Saturday night for the Jubilee Special, £109 and it was a bargain. We arrived at this impresive looking hotel and were greeted by friendly staff. In the price we had 'Afternoon Tea' and after taking our bags to our room (which was large, clean and what you would expect for the age... More

We arrived on the 1st of may for a three night break. The hotel,an imposing ivy clad sight greeted us.Inside was a very old traditional style decor. We were happy with our room and the bathroom. breakfast was the usual choice of cereals, toast, croissants, but we ordered a lovely cooked breakfast consisting of back bacon, scrambled or fried egg, sausage, beans, black pudding, and fried bread. Evening meals... More

Hotel as seen better days, bedrooms large but need update, bathroom was fine. The cooked breakfast was a joke. The only item that had not been cooked for hours was the fried egg and to cut a mushroom in half?

Excellent service, would defiantly recommend a stay. We were booked at the Crown but they were overbooked so transferred us to this hotel, what a bonus! The hotel is old but it is very well maintained and displays character not found in a modern hotel. Fantastic location and was only beaten by the friendly helpful staff who were efficient, attentive... More

Spent one night at the Swan. It cost £130 for the room and included breakfast. Room was clean, (bed large and comfortable) but in need of an update. Dark furniture made the room even darker and one of the bedside lights didn't work. Bathroom, in contrast was more modern; great shower..but two lights in the bathroom didn't work! Corrridors and... We stayed here for 1 night in March on one of the Classic Lodges, dinner/bed&breafast/sparkling wine in room on arrival, speacial offers for £99. The Hotel is in an excellent location, on a quiet road but right in the middle of Harrogate. Our room was at the back of the hotel and was very quiet. It was clean but a... More

Stayed at the hotel for a couple of nights in early April 2012. Shared a twin room with my son on a trip to see relatives who live in the area. Just glad we didn't have to spend much time in the room. At first glance the hotel looks very grand, but on closer inspection the place is in serious... More

Just returned from a couple of days at this hotel, I can't find any real problems with the place. Food was excellent (stopped on b&b and evening meal basis), I had booked an executive room but was upgraded to a suite and it was very comfortable, the hotel was no better or worse since we stopped last year. All in... More

Excellent service and value for money, would defiantly recommend a stay. Yes the hotel is old but it is very well maintained and displays character not found in a modern 4* hotel.
