We stayed 4 nights while visiting several of the National Trust gardens and houses/castles in Kent. When you book this hotel you should be aware of the fact that there is no lift! We had a room on the second floor and it was quite a climb with the luggage. Luckily the staff is very helpful.

The Russell Hotel made us wonderfully welcome. The seating was well laid out and the room was beautifully decorated. The food was excellent and the staff friendly and helpful and nothing was too much trouble for them. Altogether a very positive experience, we would highly recommend it to others.

stayed at the russell hotel for the weekend for a break. stayed in a suite, was lovely and very clean. we ate in the restaurant of the hotel at dinner and breakfast and cannot fault it at all. Staff were also very friendly and welcoming and also helpful. Will definately recommend this hotel to family and friends...

Charged £95.00 B and B for what I can only describe as an old fashioned old chain hotel.
My room was shabby, old looking and there were pump disensers for shampoo etc, no water, mini bar and a very limited TV selection. No bath, just a shower which was cold and no way a power shower !

I stay here every 3 months or so on business. the hotel is dated but very quiet. the rooms are comfortable but can be very hot. The food is not very good in either the bar or the restaurant. It is never seasoned meaning it is generally bland and fails to live up to the expectations from the menu.

Stayed here to go see a TV show being filmed at Maidstone Studios. Was good central location.
Room was very small for a double and could have done with a bit more thorough cleaning ( hairs on bathroom floor, stained toilet seat, marks on curtains).
