Stayed here for business with a large group of colleagues. Hotel generally was ok with clean rooms, bedding and hot water. Good wifi and room internet as well. Breakfasts were pretty good buffet style with plenty of choice for those not eating a full cooked breakfast.

If basic, clean and affordable with good breakfast is what you seek, then this hotel is fine. Note that the cereal/croissant/toast bar is opposite the cooked range, and also the fruit (which I have with the cereal opposite). Yoghurt is from a large bowl rather than individual. Good sausage and bacon.

Stayed for 2 nights, reception area was fine but was greeted by a dirty breakfast bowl outside my room door, the room smelt stuffy which turned out to be the sink.
Other than that the room was clean.

I was a lone female traveller and was really worried about it as dont normally travel alone, hotel made me feel welcome and made sure if I need anything they were on hand, they upgraded me to a suite and my bathroom was massive. Stayed at the mercure because we were in town with our baby, for a wedding. Staff were really nice & went out of their way to make arrangements for our 9 month old. But the hotel itself is very mediocre... Floor boards were extremly creaky & carpet very stained.
