Stayed as a treat for 40th birthday. Got a good deal £159 for the night £60 less than listed price (booking.com). First impressions were good but lacked atmosphere. stayed here for 1 night on the 26th april on a works jolly, hotel room was fantastic, bed really comfy, lovely bathroom, service in the hotel was what you would expect in a 5 star hotel, food was lovely, would stay here again.

I found myself having to make a last min trip to Manchester and as always stayed at the Lowry, the general manager came out to greet me upon arrival, service was excellent from all staff, no fuss just good service, good room and great breakfast, many thanks to all the staff

This hotel reminded me of an 1980s Holiday Inn and the service and amenities were similar. The location is central with just a short walk to the city centre but over an ugly concreted, then backstreet, somewhat deserted area - you'd expect tumbleweed if Manchester wasn't so damp!
