City centre hostel - about £16 for a basic night with shower. The staff in the morning were terrible and rude and of no help. It felt like she really hated her job and talking to people. But the staff later in the evening made up for it. Very helpful and almost acted as a tourist information centre. Excellent. The... More

I stayed in Hatters for two nights a month ago (solo female traveller). I stayed in the big dorm, which I have done in many hostels in europe. A week after being home my legs came up in horrible welts, I had no idea what they were, and after some google searching they were definately bed bug bites. They were... More

I am staying in this place for like 2 weeks, on and off, but cant imagine better place to stay. Clean, cozy, and cheap. Perfect location just couple of minutes from Piccadily Gdns, and 10 minutes from shoping area. Do not take on board thing like prison from 1980's coz it is not true. You are get what you paid... I got a dorm for 22 Pounds for two nights which is not dirt cheap but not too expensive as well. According to me its on 15 Hilton street, and really walking distance to Piccadily and Shudehill Interchange (Mega Bus stand - important to me). It has got bars nearby as well and it looked quite safe area to live... More

With all but one thing considered, this was the best place I've ever stayed, and can't recommend it enough. However, the one thing is that it's awful. Awful. I stayed here on a stag do, so not my choice of accommodation. Some people actually choose to stay here. The rooms are like prison cells from the 1980's. If you are... More

Being my first time in a hostel, I wasn't expecting much. We stayed in the Newton Street hostel and since we were coming in at 2am and getting up at 10am, it was basically a place for us to sleep. Upon arrival, you are given a receipt-sized piece of paper saying your name and your room number. This gives you... More

I stayed in a double room in this hostel and I was a bit disappointed. While the location was great, the staff was helpful and there was a nice TV room, our room (room 506) had some sort of boiler or generator in the corner. It was extremely noisy - it sounded like there was a washing machine running on... More

This hostel is centrally located, close to train station and with good links to Manchester airport. It is noisy type of hostel, so if you want to get some privacy, you better go somewhere else. Although staff were ok, but problems with hot water (or more like lack of it) didn't improve my experience. As I said in the title,... More
