The Mercure near the train station is well located for travelers coming to Bordeaux by train, but is not located in a nice area. On foot to the centre takes about half an hour through not so nice streets (lots of renovation works has to be done). The tramway is a convenient alternative and is definitely recommended. Rooms are standard... More

Stayed at this hotel while in Bordeaux. While the hotel is pretty basic the service is friendly and attentive (and English spoken) it is the location that is the best. It is about 100m to the tram stop into the city and other tram connections and one stop to the main train station making it very easy to get around... More

Just staying there for two nights. The service is friendly. Rooms are pretty small, renovated quickly and cheap (IKEA in a 4* hôtel)... When I read this in other reviews I did not believe it but it's true. The bed is new with a hard mattress. No interest to go there for the location, lost close to the station, citycenter... More

From the outset, this hotel was not welcoming as a surly young lady checked us in without a smile. The dining area, an unattractive room which is part of the lobby was empty except for a table of well-fed gentlemen in suits who turned out to be hotel's owners and guests. the one waitress on duty was busy opening bottles... This is an excellent hotel of its type, fully modernized and very clean, with friendly staff. Good restaurant but breakfast not as good as at the Mercure Chateaux Chartrons. Good location next to Tram stop and within walking distance of station.

The hotel is close to the main train station but it's in an area that I felt rather unsafe at night time. There was wifi in the hotel but getting it to work took a while since the staff did not speak any English (the one at the front desk) and insisted on speaking French to us. The hotel room... More

Picked for location near Gare St Jean for early morning train to Paris. Easy, cheap tram outside the door to downtown Bordeaux which negates the somewhat sleazy neighbourhood of the hotel's location. Room was quiet, clean and modern with great bathroom. Good, helpful staff on the front desk, good wi-fi connection.

This is a wonderful modern hotel, and Mercure have obviously invested a lot of money during the renovations in 2010. The staff were all very welcoming, and the room facilities can not be faulted. The hotel is 500m from the Gare Saint Jean, and has a tram station outside, however the rooms are double glazed and air conditioned so street... More

should you need to stay over between Paris and south of france -we used TGV from Paris to Bordeaux, then regional to La Reole ,to collect a canal boat @ Meilhan sur Garonne for a 10 day canal sail- this hotel is perfect. On the tram line (stop 15m from front door) so you can go into midtown in comfort.... More

Stayed here for 3 days. The hotel is NOT a 4 STAR. The rooms consist of a bed ( either double or twin ), a DTV which is totally French and a bathroom. There is free wi-fi which is something, and a computer in the foyer which can be used to browse the internet. Beds are comforable but we had... More
