We spent 3 nights here. Yes, the room is small but not an issue as we spent such a little time here. front desk staff were friendly and very helpful. I had an issue with the wi-fi and staff member phoned my room to make sure all was working ok. Did not opt for the breakfast option. My one gripe... More

For American standards, the rooms are a bit claustrophobic at times. It's small but everything you need is right there. With three suit cases and tons of shopping bags, we still managed to make it work for our 5 day stay. The bathroom could use a little remodeling, but it served it's purposes just fine. Elevators are small but that's... More

I must start saying that I used a double room for me only so I had enough of space. The room was quite clean and the bed was good. Bathroom ok but only with bathtub, no shower. The cupboard is very tiny... if you stay longer, keep you clothes in the suitcase. The road is not noisy but the walls... More

In the interest of time management, you should meet all the following criteria before booking at Sophie Germain. 1) You don't plan to be in town for more than 2 days 2) You don't care about a shower and can deal with a bath....and not having a shower curtain does not bother you 3) You don't plan to talk after... The hotel was relatively close to the metro and within easy reach of the city centre. There were lots of great shops nearby, good places to eat and a cinema. We chose it because it was close to a friend we were visiting. On reflection it perhaps wasn't the best value for money. The room was a little cramped, the... More

I was a little nervous at first staying at this hotel because I thought it would be too far from all the action of Paris but it was very comfortable and an enjoyable stay. Distance When travelling I enjoy walking, walking, walking. It was maybe a 20-30 minute stroll to the Eiffel Tower. I ended up buying one of those... More

Just back from Paris (December 2011). We used this hotel twice: 5 days and then, in a week (visited Bordeaux), another 2 days. Two different rooms, two different opinions. First room was on the 5th floor. Small, tiny, bathroom was 3 sq. meters. However room was very cosy and comfy, taking in mind purpose of our visit: not to stay... More

My girlfriend and I stayed here in July as we had a wedding to go to in Paris and this hotel seemed the most local. For the price we paid I guess you can't really get much else any better in Paris, so from that point of view it was ok. The hotel is very compact and the rooms are... More

Hotel was a bit tough to find as it is on a side street, and the map on the hotel website was not helpful. The room was very clean; the only problem with my room being that it was right behind the front desk- so I could hear every bit of conversation going on out there. If I was not... More
