This is a small hotel which punches above its weight.15 minutes walk from Gare du Nord and with metro stations even closer. the rooms are small but so well thought out and decorated. It has up to date electricals and the walk in shower is first class with good hot water while the bed is good height and comfortable.Breakfast room is cosy with full buffet. The front staff are charming and like to help as much as possible. I have no difficulty in recommending this as a base from which to explore Paris.

Hotel's Favourite
We were first time visitors to Paris as we travelled for an overnight stay for my wife's birthday. The hotel seemed to be having some renovation works done on reception but this was well sign posted. The hotel was a 20min walk from the station with SatNav taking a long route. We were greated by Isabelle (5*) who was friendly and welcoming. She was so helpful and recommended places to eat, along with percice instructions on how to get there. She was reassuring about the local area seeming run down with lots of immigrants hanging around on the streets. The room was clean modern and had everything we needed including a safe, hairdryer and air-conditioning. The breakfast area was very nice and well presented although small. The food was simple but fresh and more than enough for any taste. The bed was a bit lumpy but a good night's sleep had.

The hotel is a hidden gem in a slightly uncomfortable area. My husband and I thought the hotel is one of the cleanest we have stayed in, the bed was really comfortable! The room was quite small but for the two of us it was fine. The shower was lovely and hot. The staff were really helpful and nice, from the reception to breakfast and also the cleaning staff. Breakfast was nice, there’s a selection of cheese and meats, mini croissants and mini chocolate croissants, sliced bread, freshly baked baguette, scrambled eggs and hot chicken strips. Yoghurt’s etc, Help yourself to a (or more) hot drink from the machine. If you are travelling from gare du nord walk around the corner to the bus stop, you’ll need bus 38 and 2 euros 50 each get off at department- Marx dormoy, walk back towards the pharmacy on the corner of rue Phillipe de Girard, you’ll then find the hotel at the corner. We found the area around the metro la chapelle a bit intimidating with lots of men hanging around, but we just used a stop further up

Hotel clean. Staff friendly. Public transport very close. Location - not so great, especially as we were three young female travellers - be aware. Bathroom flooded, reported this to reception - had no issues following days. Shame about the area as the hotel was lovely & transport was super close.

Stayed here for 3 nights with my 16 year old grandson, the hotel is very modern and clean ,the staff were very nice and helpful. The metro is a five minute walk , and about 20 minute walk from Gare de nord. I would definitely stay here again.

We stayed last weekend with 3 guests in a triple room (3 single beds) for 2 nights, including breakfast. Room was small but very nicely renovated, with very comfortable beds and with a small but functional bathroom (bathroom gets very wet though after showering because there is no proper shower screen). Air conditioning worked very good and was quiet. Room itself was facing the street but very well isolated from outside noise. Breakfast was very basic but for a 2 nights stay ok, it would get boring if we would have stayed longer. Coffee was nice. The area is very well connected with the rest of town with 2 main metro lines within walking distance. The neighborhood is a bit sketchy and I wouldn't recommend staying here as a single woman but it was fine for us (we are 2 men and 1 woman and we arrived back at the hotel at 11pm twice and it was ok). I tried to e-mail the hotel twice to inform about parking (1 week and 2 weeks before arriving) but they never bothered to reply so we booked a nearby parking for a decent price Would stay again if the price is right.

This was a lovely hotel, comfortable bed and pillow. Everything was clean and breakfast was sufficient for the day ahead. Would easily stay there again and highly recommend as a base for your stay, especially if using the metro as nothing there to do at actual location.

We stayed here on a Late Luxuries deal at the end of July for my birthday for 4 nights. Reception was under construction every day which wasn’t overly welcoming. The lift wasn’t allowed to be used at some points so getting luggage around was unhelpful. On arrival you are handed a key which you must return every time you leave, however, when you ask for your key back they do not check so security is not the best as someone could take it and they would not know. You are asked to pay the city tax which is fine, however, you are asked to pay a €100 deposit which is not said anywhere and this is to ensure no damage to the room is done. It also must be in card. It’s lucky we had our card on us as only brought cash due to it being a holiday. I would suggest if you can ensuring you get rooms from floor 3 and above, anything below looked awful and very poorly kept. The room that we had was nice, small but that was expected. The wet room was also very nice and modern. They have a guest book with a lot of house rules which we were happy to comply with, however, it says eating and drinking was forbidden. We kept to that rule but they have tea and coffee and biscuits in the room so we didn’t know if we could have it or not due to the rule! The sign to put on your door is useless. One side is green for your room to be cleaned. One side is red to say no. We put no every day on our door because we do not like people entering our room and had all our belongings everywhere. On our third day we came back and it was cleaned, despite saying no on the door. We went to reception and complained and they told us we had to ask at reception (not stated anywhere, or in the guest book) otherwise even if it’s red they will clean it because clearly a do not clean sign means clean… They don’t have typical English tea in the room or at breakfast which was a shame. Breakfast is mediocre but would not recommend paying extra for it, there’s many bakeries up the road which have a much better selection. Location is horrific, it’s the most unsafe I have felt getting back to a hotel and we did not want to be out after dark. The metro (12) will have lots of street sellers coming up to you trying to make you buy things. Walking down the other end to metro (2) or even the Carrefour has streets lines of multiple intoxicated sellers trying to make you buy their goods. It was very unnerving and all the streets smelt of bodily fluids in the nicest way to put it. That goes the same for opening windows you can smell it. If you want to feel safe after a nice evening out do not stay here

Response from Ambre VOURET, Propriétaire at Hotel de Bellevue Paris Gare du Nord
Responded 10 Aug 2023
Dear C MOLE I'm sorry to hear that your stay was not entirely satisfactory. As a friendly assistant, I understand your concerns about the construction and inconvenience caused by the lift not being available. It's also concerning that the security measures, such as returning the key, were not properly enforced. Regarding the deposit and payment methods, it would have been helpful if the hotel provided more information in advance about the deposit requirement and accepted payment options. I can understand how it could be inconvenient if you were only prepared with cash. It's good to hear that the room you had was nice and that the wet room was modern. However, the conflicting information about the rules on eating and drinking might have been confusing. It would have been better if the hotel clarified whether the tea, coffee, and biscuits provided in the room were allowed to be consumed. I apologize for the inconvenience caused by the cleaning service not respecting your "do not disturb" sign. It would have been helpful if the hotel had clearly communicated the procedure for requesting or declining room cleaning. I understand your disappointment with the breakfast options and the location of the hotel. It's unfortunate that the breakfast was mediocre, and it would have been better to have more options nearby. As for the location, I'm sorry to hear that you felt unsafe and encountered aggressive street sellers. It's important to feel safe and comfortable during your stay. If there's anything else I can assist you with or if you have any further questions, please let me know. -- Envoyé avec Gmail Mobile

So I booked as part of the Eurostar deal. The location is a bit rough... the main entrance was under construction so entered via a side entrance... surprisingly I was handed a physical key and told it must be returned when leaving the hotel... no aircon so asked for a fan at reception . Asked for a cab from reception and was charged was €48 to get to the Eiffel Tower €16 supplement! Feel a little ripped off. Despite this, the rooms are very lovely, inside the hotel you feel safe. The staff were pleasant enough... felt like a modern B&B. Location into town was good. An ok stay if you know what to expect. Tip Keep things you want dry at a safe distance when using the wet room. The toilet paper, is liable to get wet.

The rooms were nice and were well represented in the website photos. The only thing that we didn’t like was the location. The location is in one of the dodgiest parts of Paris, therefore we had to get taxis everywhere we went to feel safe. Due to the inconvenience and danger of the location I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.
