We spent two nights at this hotel and found it a fine place to stay. The room was very comfortable and the morning breakfast was great. My wife and I spent three enjoyable nights at the Churchill while touring the Normandy beaches. The hotel is spotlessly clean, and every staff member we encountered was extremely pleasant and helpful; even to the point of writing down specific instructions for negotiating the Metro system upon our return to Paris (we could still be riding it without those instructions).... It baffles me why Rick Steves and Frommers find this place fascinating. The room that I stayed in was incredibly small. I could stand in the bathroom and touch all four walls without fully extending my arms. The bathroom was so small that there wasn't room for a toilet paper holder. The location was perfect. We didn't realize till we arrived how convenient having parking close by would be. Centrally located in the ultimately quaint town of Bayeux, this hotel is run by true professionals. Helpful to the nth degree, willing to assist in any conceivable way whether it be with a restaurant recommendation or tour suggestion. The rooms are adequate and relatively modern for a medieval town. Definitely the place to stay if touring the Normandy battle sites.
