At first we book a standard room, but when we got there the room was small and not so charmming. They offered us an upgrade for €30 a day. Agreeded! The other room was really superior, spacious, charmming, with a nice balcony and a beautiful view! Best of all: if you miss the breakfast hour,(you want to sleep more) they... More

High above the sparkling coastline of Nice - tucked away in the hills surrounding the magical village of St Paul de Vence - a special hotel awaits. She is a little in need of a make-over at the moment; but this is on track for early 2012, and in no way diminishes her charms. (No where have we found a... More

The website photos really make the place seem extraordinary but I'm afraid we were disappointed, especially given the price tag. Let's start with the pros: (1) The common areas and gardens were beautiful, (2) the view from the restaurant was wonderful, (3) we were pleased with our food and (4) we LOVED St. Paul de Vence -- the town. However,... More

Normally we really do our research for hotels but... We had little time and found this hotel close to our arrival. The website looked fine and so did the description. The location is cool - set on a hill top overlloking both St Paul de Vance as well as the ocean (great view). But the hotel turned out to be... More

Way too expensive! The rooms are very outdated. If you don't have a car, you will be stranded and stuck paying 30 or 35 euros for breakfast (much much more for lunch or dinner). The cheapest rooms they offer are not worth it - super tiny , no A/C and kinda gross. The service was great though. They could tell... More

Went to the Mas d'Artigny in August 2010 for a few days and stayed in one of their suites with a private pool. So far so good but the bathroom exuded the charm of the 70s (if your are into cheap and run down) as did the furniture in the room. During our stay, a large chunk of concrete fell... More

This, mostly passed its heyday hotel, was for us, an oasis in an otherwise treacherous trip, driving from Perugia, central Italy to Paris, in hazardous winter conditions in a fully packed VW Golf, with a frightened and restless kitten on board for her first drive with the two back tires desperately wanting to peel off their rims. But that's another... More

We had trouble finding this hotel located on a large estate, populated by many sculptures. We were directed to the hotel by a computer seminar centre down the road. When we arrived, our prepaid room was shown to us. It was dark, dingy, small and its fridge was not working. For an extra 30 euros, we were offered a palatial... More

Room 118. Suite with private pool. Very big 2-room apartment (they say 60sqm). We actually spent the full day at our private pool with our 4yr daughter, nothing better when recovering from big party previous night! Yes it needs renovation, and I heard this is going to happen next year, but overall we had a good experience (big room +... More

When I arrived, I thought that there needed repairs. But then I realized that the sterile high-tech can kill this place. There is an old French charm, buyout, we love when we arrive on the Cote d'Azur. All you need to change - upholstered furniture, mattresses, blankets, pillows. Everything else does not need to touch, even the old plaster! I... More
