Located miles out of the centre of Hamburg; a 15 minute walk from the nearest tube, no restaurants or bars near by, expensive, old looking hotel, 45 mins to the Hamburg arena.
Rooms are old looking, pillows were old, the bar in the hotel is 4 seats in the lobby....having seen and travelled throughout the Mercure hotels globally, this one...

Initial problem was the internet directions which suggested the hotel was near the airport when in fact it is on the other side of the city. The hotel is minutes from junc 26 on the A7/E45 which is very convenient for the autobahn, but not so for the city - 90 minute walk. However, there is a bus stop close...

I lost my time, and when I asked for dinner, restaurant was closed
I...

This hotel is stuck in the middle of nowhere & is fairly tatty & dirty. The rooms are small, miserable & not very clean. The reception staff did there best to be helpful & the in-house massage lady is fantastic but the gym is a joke & the sauna is rubbish. Breakfast was okay.

We booked two nights at this location with the Holiday Inn, specifically to get HI points.
When we arrived we found that it had become the Mercure Hotel two days before. Apparently Mercure is a european chain.
We had requested a room close to the elevator. They gave us a room as far away as possible from the elevator. We...
