Very good location in Altstadt, everything very closeby. Breakfast was the best part of our stay. Staff speaks only German, friendly not very professional though. The rooms are small and very updated- especially the bathroom needs a thorough makeover and cleaning. Make sure you have a room facing the back of the hotel- the rooms facing the street are very... Great location. Noisy until after midnight--but if you plan to hang out in adjacent bars anyway then it shouldn't bother you. Room is very basic and not quite clean. One star is for location and one star is for the breakfast. Very friendly staff... More

Stayed in the Hotel Alt for three nights with friends, and have to say it didn't live up to the great reviews it received. On arrival we were checked in at the reception, located at the bar/cafe and it looked great. However, we were directed across the road to our room, where the building was derelict, had a horrible entrance... More

Location, location, location! No one could deny that the location is just perfect if you like to be near to the old town or to see the Christmas markets. The hotel is situated one street away from main shopping street in Dusseldorf and its surrounded by bars and restaurants. We were there during the winter so never mind that our... More

Located in probably the dirtiest and noisiest part of the old town, this hotel is plain dirty, smelly and massively overpriced - a disgrace to German hoteliers. Just don't go there. More

We had to move to the supposedly better room across the main hotel because everything wasn't working in the room we first checked into. The place smells of the sewer system. We were told by the receptionist that it is really smells of sewer every time it rains... she even said that everything in that area also smells of sewer!... More

This small hotel was the best value I've had in Europe. Right in Old Town with lots of places to shop, eat and landmarks, too. Clean, staff very helpful, definitely recommend, breakfast really good. More

We've stayed here twice: in April 2008 for one night and in August 2009, also for one night. In April we stayed in a building accross the street from the reception; and that was a bit worn, our sink had a big crack in it and the bedlamp had no light bulb, but the room was otherwise clean and ok.... This Hotel has an excellent location in the middle of AltStadt. 1 min to Königsallee - main shopping street in Dusseldorf. 3 min to Rhein bank. Rooms are clear and well-groomed. The breakfast is rich and various. Good place for short stay and fun in Dusseldorf More
