Hotel Arosa Essen is located close to the center of Essen. The hotel is not really new, checkin/checkout was efficient. The breakfast was surprisingly good. The room had a carpet which is a minus, but the bathroom was acceptable.

Pretty cheap, but you get what you pay for. Standard rooms (I had a big room, most of colleagues had much smaller rooms) with a shower only. Bed was resonably good, little too small. People at the frontdesk were friendly. Breakfast is good, lots of choice. The hotel is located downtown.
