Like all the InterCity hotels, this was built chiefly to lodge German Railways' staff between shifts and so is right next to the railway station in Magdeburg. The hotel was actually very nice, but it smelled smoke from sigarettes everywhere. Even in the rooms. That was not good. Breakfast very good. Service excellent. You can hear the trains from the room...
