The location of this hotel is excellent - right in the middle of town on a main thoroughfare. Rooms are extremely small and sparse for American standards. Very noisy both day and night. Could not regulate the heat and complained but to no avail. Heat only came on for two hours and then turned off. If you don't set your... More

I was there for a conference in November. The second day I came down with a terrible flu, with a high fever. It was cold and the heating system did not work. I was feeling miserable and asked for help. They told me the heating system is central and they could not turn it on for me - it would... More

Old hotel but in outstanding location. Creative and extensive breakfast buffet, one of the best we have experienced. Lifts are very old and small but work most of the time. Door to the room is like a vault with safe-like metal bars in the frame. Comfortable beds. If you leave the window open, the street noise can get loud about... More

The previous reviews have it right. Great location and price. The rooms are what you would expect for the price. The Metro, which is a great way to get around MAD, is just outside the hotel. I was by myself so the room size was not an issue but it would be for a family. I would stay here in... More

I stayed here with my parents and 2 aunts who are seniors. It provide a convinient location from which to explore downtown Madrid. It is close to the Plaza Mayor and Peuta de Sol. The shopping on the surounding blocks is great. The staff were helpful. They organized a refridgerator for my fathers medication, and helped all of us hook... More

The Tryp Washington is a 3 star Hotel and just about earns the title. We stayed in a room facing a courtyard, and all these Courtyard rooms are rather small. The room decor is fine its just the size. Breakast was OK, but one feature let it down and that was it seems to attract lots of student groups, and... More

Prime location on the edge of Old Town...within steps of metro line...five minutes walking away from Sol..a few more to Plaza Mayor. The staff was helpful and accomodating.Because Grand Via is a major street and my room was on street side...you could hear activity throughout the night. Madrid never sleeps! But I've stayed on a pedestrian street in Old Town... More

location perfect in the centre of Madrid, excellent for sight seeing, theatre and cinema enthusiasts. Check in was a little slow as was check out. On leaving the elevator on my allocated floor I was shocked by the state of the carpet in the common areas, threadbare somewhat dirty. I was however relieved when entering my room and seeing the... I wrote a pretty bad review of Tryp Washington along with a few other people, but I notice that some of the reviews were saying just the opposite. It's like we're talking about 2 different hotels! Well I think we are. The Tryp Washingtom (3 star) is next door to a 4 star Tryp (Gran Via maybe?). I know this... More

Very central location but only ok if you can not afford any better hotel. The hotel is run down and not ok to any standard above one star. The staff is friendly and there are new flat creen TVs in the room but the whole buildind is not up to european hotel standards. When riding an elevator you fear for... More
