My daughter and I stayed at the Emperador Hotel the first week in May. It was our first mother and daughter trip away and we were looking forward to it with great anticipation. The hotel was recomended by two sets of friends who we knew are very fussy where they stay and even though it was a few years ago... More

We had a large triple room which was very nice, with traditional decor. The pool area is great but the pool is freezing and drinks expensive. The food at the pool area is nice and reasonably priced, we did not eat in the restaurant, why would you when you have the whole of Madrid on your doorstep. More

I stayed there in 2009 while on a business trip, I have to say the location of the hotel is amazing, the hotel is nice, clean, especially the bathrooms, which are very very clean. But I don't consider it as a 4 star hotel due to 1 reason, the rooms are soooooo tiny, I was shocked when I entered the... More

A bit showy (plush lobby, gun-toting guard) but underneath the glitz a standard hotel that is useful as a base to explore the city. Rooms are reasonably appointed - mine was a bit cramped for a double - and comfortable. Other than a noisy guest next door at 2.30am, I have no complaints. We got a good weekend rate that... More

No negatives but just an average hotel. Lobby looks very plush, but my room was bog standard and very small. I paid £90 a night room only, which wasn't a bad price for what I got. Staff were all very pleasant and the check in was swift. Unfortunately the pool wasn't due to open for another week so maybe I... More

I'd actually rate this hotel 'good' but it errs more towards very good than average. Our room was very spacious, with a large entry corridor, big bay window and high ceilings which had a lovely old chandelier that added some vintage glamour. It was certainly bigger than your average hotel room. It had begun to look a bit tired -... More

The room on the eight floor was noisy- it was possible to hear clearly what was going on next door. Worse, the staff were inattentive and, on one occasion, downright rude. Breakfast was quite good. More

We booked this hotel for our Easter break in Madrid, since it was the best value among central hotels, but we only realised quite how central the location was once we got there. Right on the Gran Via, which I would say is on the nothern edge of the core of the city centre, within walking distance of everywhere. In... More

I stayed here for two nights as a base whilst on business - arriving Thursday night at 10pm - quick front of house service and installed into my room and then downstairs for a late evening drink all within 5 minutes. My room 703 was fine - a bit small - internal views! But the bathroom was fine, the room... More

There's basically one reason to stay at this hotel - location. It's in the middle of everything. Otherwise, its fine - rooms are on the small side and ones in the back of the property are quite dark, but I'd definitely opt for that over than facing the busy street out front. If you plan on spending a lot of... More
