This was the first hotel in Spain we stayed in, and we didn't know what to expect. We were pleasantly surprised! The hotel is located right of the Plaza del Sol, so there are many restaurants and shops all around the hotel. We stayed in room 307. It was nice and large with plenty of closet/shelf space for luggage. There... More

I thought this was a very overly-priced hotel, even though it was in an historic section of Madrid. Allegedly, this hotel is on a street that existed in the year One. I say, "big deal!" It cost 150 Eurors, which is quite a lot US Dollars, for a very small room, (I shared with two others), very poorly detailed, old-looking... More

We have just come back from a 4 night stay in this hotel. I was a little worried , as I had read various bad reviews... We had a fantastic time. We were greeted by friendly staff and allowed into our room early. The room was lovely, great bathroom and decor. Breakfast was good too, lots of choice. Madrid is... More

The location was good, in the middle of everything. However, there was a strange smell in the lobby and the stairs, there was lots of mold in our room and quite some annoying bugs. Service was variable. We will chose another hotel next time we're in Madrid. More

We stayed at the Petit Palace last year and liked the location which is just off the Puerto del Sol. We thought we would try it again this year, which was a bit of a mistake really. The staff are great at the hotel and very helpful, unfortunately it ends there. Our room last year was dark with not much... More

Location is excellent, about 2 mins walk to Sol metro. Small rooms but that's to be expected in this location. First room they gave me smelt of sewage, which was something of a disappointment (rm 103), but they changed it without fuss and the second one was fine. Airconditioning wasn't working - when I asked they said it was turned... More

Great location- we could walk to plaza meyor and puerta de sol as well as the prado and other museums. We thought the room was very small and cramped and bathroom oversized for the size of the room. Loved the balcony and view onto the street. Great to have refreshments when you walked in and throughout the day. Very clean.... More
