Our first stay with the Convento di Amalfi was 10 exceptional nights of bliss in celebration of our 30th wedding anniversary. From the moment we approached the entry to the Hotel and were greeted by the hotel director, Ms. Fulvia Clapier, it was the beginning to one the most incredible experiences of a lifetime. Housed in a 12th-century monastery, hotel... More

We arrived at the hotel on honeymoon having spent the previous 5 nights in the Grand Hotel Tremezzo Palace on Lake Como, which is also 5-star. However, the difference in quality between the 2 hotels was marked. As a converted monastery, we thought the hotel would be bursting with character but the ultra modern white decor, poor positioning of the... More

Stayed here for 2 nights after staying in Capri for 1 night at La Minerva. I felt sad leaving Capri and thought it will be hard to beat the hotel in Capri, but my experience was otherwise. We drove to Amalfi (from Sorrento) and firstly missed the hotel entrance: it's directly after the tunnel entering Amalfi. so the car park... More

My husband and I stayed here on the second stop of our mini tour of Italy. It was our first time in Italy as a whole and we took the train from Rome to Sorrento and then a bus from Sorrento to Amalfi. The train ride was smooth and easy. The bus ride was....not quite as smooth. When the bus... More

Spectacular place. Spectacular view. Small room. Wonderful outdoor facilities. Good Food. Very nice service. But pricey for being a NH hotel and an Italian resort (in may). No wifi in the rooms in case you need. But for a weekend i would go back with my lovely one. Tipp: if you go there by FrecciaRossa, then get off in Salerno... More

Stay here for the views, the frills, and the grand experience. You're poised atop Amalfi, with an epic overview of the coastline, city, and the beautiful blue waters. Unobstructed views take on a whole new meaning here-you're 1000 feet above the shoreline. Pluses: the view, the service (Crisculo Antionella at the front desk was wonderfully helpful and kind), the hotels... More

Excellent hotel setting overlooking Amalfi with the levels of service you'd expect at this price bracket. Stay relaxing in the hotel grounds during the day until the last of the coaches, buses, sea ferries have left Amalfi. Has reasonable gym facilities - treadmill, bike, some free weights, and a multi-purpose machine. The food and decor is very NH but the... More

This converted convent is nestled into the hillside above Amalfi and offers stunning views of the coastline and the town. The grounds are absolutely beautiful--the main lobby area is connected to an infinity pool that overlooks the ocean by a lovely colonnade shaded by cypress trees and lemon groves. The rooms are spacious, spotlessly clean and elegantly decorated in muted... More

Many hotels on the Amalfi coast have great views, but you just can't beat this. It has a jetliner view of Amalfi and the coast. The hotel is an easy walk from Amalfi. The staff -- including the valets who put their lives on the line every day -- were very friendly and helpful. Even for a 5 star, the... More

This is a very unique property. Decked out in a medieval monastary, Grand Hotel stays true to its origins while blending in all of the amenities you'd expect from a top notch hotel. Don't expect a dramatic entry......the bell staff does all it can to get you safely from your car on the narrow winding road into the elevator that... More
