First off, Trip Advisors info on this isn't correct (address I mean). I am not sure if they've moved from in previous years but it's actually at Via Cesarano, 5, 80067 Sorrento, Italy. We actually found this listing on Expedia, which is odd because it is clearly a vacation rental and I was not aware that Expedia did that. We did have trouble finding this place at first because my map app on my phone had trouble finding the address. So best to find that and possibly print it out before you go. However, the experience itself was amazing. Like a previous review mentioned, there are some things you must prepare yourself for. One, there is wifi downstairs at the common area table, but not in the unit. Or rather, we never had any. Perhaps it was our 3 devices, but I think not. Our hostess spoke no english, but we managed to communicate just fine. She was an amazing and friendly hostess. They even bought us a pizza one night when we were eating a light meal around the table outside. The unit is upstairs and you have the sometimes-use of a very small elevator or a short walk up stairs. BUT... It's worth it because you will be treated to the most amazing views of the Bay. The apartment is very cozy. We were three (my mom, my daughter and I) and my daughter and I shared the bed and my mom had a sort of pull out cot. She said it was very comfortable and we thought the bed was just fine. There is a/c in the room which was great, because we were there in late September and it was still pretty warm. The shower is small, but otherwise the bathroom is very comfortable. There is no washer IN the unit, but I believe we could have had access to one. We chose to hand wash though, and our hostess (I think her name was Amanda, because that's my name and she was communicating that it was the same.. but maybe an italian version?) let us use some soap for that. Plenty of towels and linens. No cutting board (I agree with the previous review that this is definitely needed as is the peeler). Okay, now for the nitty gritty: It is a walk from the main area of Sorrento. No joke about it. We walked that walk a couple times a day each day. Sometimes there is no side walk. Walking it at night was a bit stressful. Having said that, the drivers were very cautious and actually, we were far from the only people walking to hotels up on the hill there. We simply bought a few groceries from the many grocers around to have our breakfast in the room in the morning, and then made the beautiful walk down. All the tours we booked, only one didn't pick us up from the hotel. It wasn't a very long walk to the main area, maybe 10-12 minutes. It IS definitely harder going back up. But we reasoned that we were eating more pasta and sweets (hello pastries and gelato!) so the exercise was appreciated. I took an umbrella to keep the sun off. There is also a taxi stand where a taxi would be easy to get (although we never took one so I don't know how much that would cost). Plus, previous review mentions the roosters: Yes, they were pretty consistent with the 5:30am wake up call. But since we use white noise apps on our phones (I sleep with white noise all the time since I'm a light sleeper) I only heard the roosters on the mornings that we needed to be up at 5-5:30 anyway. So, if you don't like the idea of having roosters wake you up, check your smart phones and tablets for an app that has white noise. So all in all if you're able bodied, this was a fantastic find. I mean, seriously.. I'll post some of the pictures of the view from our window and adorable patio. Plus the price? Couldn't be beat.

We spent 2 nights in the lovely blue apartment, and enjoyed the kind and gracious hospitality of Paola and her family. We arrived on an August Sunday afternoon while the family and friends were enjoying their pranzo, and they immediately peppered us with friendly questions, inviting us to join them. We finally couldn't refuse a small glass of wine, and they immediately made us feel warmly welcomed, as only the Southern Italians know how! The apartment was newly updated, spacious and clean, air-conditioned, with great views and a decently stocked kitchen (only wanting for a cutting board and a veggie peeler when we decided to cook a rather involved meal). There is also a great restaurant next door- Di Filippo- that has great dinner and lunch options. You'll enjoy your stay much more, however, if you are mentally prepared from the get-go: Domus Paola Sorrento is not located in what you might naturally think of as the center of town. It is up on a slight hillside, a good 15 minute walk through some winding roads without sidewalks. With some planning ahead, you can arrange a pick-up with them from the town center with your luggage (train station, or port I imagine as well). When visiting downtown Sorrento, the way down is easy, but the way up is a hike under the heat of the sun, so best to time your return to the apartment for when the sun goes down. At the end of our stay, Paola's daughter very kindly brought us to the center with our luggage, and vehemently refused any payment for the service. Also note that breakfast is not included, and there are no nearby cafe bars. There is a tiny little grocery next door that you could pick up a few essentials beforehand, if you don't want to have to walk to town for your breakfast in the morning. The family lives their life right around you, and you have your own keys to come and go as you please. You won't need an alarm clock as the roosters in the yard will sing to you from the moment the sun rises. My one suggestion would be to consider installing full shutters in the sleeping quarters & bathroom, to buffer some of the outside noise as well as daylight. There are full curtains and half-shutters on one of the bedroom windows, but no shutters on the other, and the sunlight is very strong during the day. All things considered, we would return again without a doubt. The price was right, the apartment was Lovely, the hospitality was warm. It is absolutely ideal for those coming by car, but for those on foot who staying more than a day and arrange a pick-up/drop off in advance, it's a perfect stay too. We wish Paola and her family all the best, and hope to be back!

My wife and I very much enjoyed our stay at Domus Paola Sorrento. The apartment was huge and very well furnished, with a wonderful view from our second floor windows. Our hostess, Paola, welcomed us upon arrival. She was very sweet and helpful. We were also most happy with her recommendation to have dinner next door at her brother's restaurant, which had a wonderful fare far broader in choices than we thought, since it was referred to as a pizzaria. Wonderful fresh fish dishes, in particular. Much larger than we would have thought. We eat there the first night and came back again the second night, it was so good. The location is high up the hillside overlooking most of the Sorrento area and sea to the north. I am sure that some very poor reviews listed on TripAdvisor are instead for some other place and highly mistaken. We very much recommend Domus Paola Sorrento.

After multiple bus cancellations in Amalfi, we missed the last train back to Naples from Sorrento. Wandering the streets at 10:30pm, we finally found the car rental office downtown & asked the fellow there to recommend a decent hotel that wasn't too expensive. He walked us down to a nearby (very busy) pub & explained our predicament. The gentleman there negotiated a great rate (he discounted when he realized we were paying with Euros vs. a credit card) then sent a waiter with the keys to the Blue Room suites and we had a wonderful experience there. It was a clean, lovely location close to the pedestrian area in Sorrento. Easy walk to train & bus lines. It overlooked a lovely piazza where several people were walking and playing with their dogs the next morning. We definitely appreciated the extra effort to send a waiter at peak dining hours to take care of us unexpectedly. Very gracious.

Having stayed in Domus Sorrento in the past, my s/o suggested booking a room there as home base for our tour of the amalfi coast. We looked on the website and noticed that they listed a few locations... we called the number and spoke to someone named Dario that quoted us a competitive price and said we could have a room in their via Santa Maria della Pieta location. "Perfect," we thought as that is the same location where my s/o had stayed and she knew the location was central and close to buses and the train station. We followed up with an email, and they responded saying we would have a room specifically in their via Santa Maria della Pieta location. We arrived on a rainy evening, walked over to the location from the train only to find that i was closed. We called the number and the gentlemen said he would "be there in 5 minutes" - 5 minutes turned into 10 and he (just like the reviewer below mentioned), whisked us off to his car where he told us we had be upgraded. We told him that we didn't want an upgrade, it was about convenience. He insisted that the location he was taking us to was better and a SHORT walk to the center. Now, its late, we are exhausted from a day of traveling and this guy is changing everything on us. We reluctantly accepted and asked that they look into gettng us back into the original location. A short drive and we arrived at the new location, AWAY from the center, through a construction site and a 20 minute walk UP STEEP STAIRS to the center. The room itself was "ok" - but the guy ("Pepe') - didn't know how long our reservation was for, he would change the subject or just say yes to everything we said about moving back to the location we had confirmed. The call and email confirmation and telephone call confirming our room in the center meant nothing. We called him a few times during our stay. Imagine visiting positano and amalfi then having to trek down steep stairs for 20 minutes and going through a construction site to get to your room. Our call and our email (complete with the confirmation email attached were ignored). As a result, we decided to cut our stay in Sorrento short and move on to another city that was more relaxing. We received the worst customer service, we were ignored and to make matters worse, after emailing them to make them aware we were cutting our stay short as a result of them not holding their end of the bargain, they responded with "Why would you leave to another hotel when you have to pay for tonight here" - LIKE HELLL I WOULD PAY! i was ready to cancel my credit card if they would! Luckily they didn't... Anyway, I wouldn't recommend Domus Sorrento to anyone - they are liars.

We booked this hotel as a base, close to the town centre for a quick trip to Sorrento. Bad idea. Upon arrival at the Domus Sorrento, which had scaffolding up the front, we found the hotel was locked, and upon calling the number on the hotel door were told we would need to wait an hour. Returning an hour later we were met outside by two members of staff. Not being allowed into the hotel we were told that we had been 'upgraded' and were asked to follow them. A car ride and severl km's later we arrived at our 'upgraded' room in the Marina Grande. Our upgraded room was at least a 20 minute walk up steps to the centre for Sorrento, which wasn't suitable for a member of the party with mobility difficulties. It also wasnt suitable as we needed to be close to the bus stop to ravello (we were over to look at wedding venues). We had paid for 2 rooms with double bed, instead we had one room with a double bed and a single bed placed in the living area. We had also paid for full breakfast but were instead given a few apples. When we tried to explain to the hotel staff that this wouldnt do, we were told that we had been upgraded to a 'sea side' appartment and that it was suitable. The only view from the apparentment was of the backs of peoples houses and washing on the line. After trying to press our point (for nearly three hours) we were told by the hotel 'manager' that he was "tired of the converstaion". We were also told that there was no other solution as the other hotel was being renovated, a point they had failed to mention to me despite two phone calls to the hotel prior to check in. On a positive note, after not being able to find a resolution with the Domus Sorrento we called our travel operator Expedia who were extremely helpful. They moved us to the lovely Grand Hotel Royal at no additonal cost, in fact they gave us a partial refund for the hassle. The staff of the Grand Hotel Royal were excellent on arrival. Would not recommend the Domus Sorrento to anyone, staff unhelpful and unfriendly.

A disaster. Could not drive to the hotel, despite the suggestion of parking - the surrounding streets were closed to traffic. And this is no hotel - it's a room in a dilapidated building, and would be not bad for a hostel room at €22, but for the price I was asked to pay it was awful. There were love-stains on the counterpane, muddy footprints in the (otherwise clean) bathroom, and make-up stains on the towels. The few sticks of furniture in the room were falling apart. The adjoining room contained a dog which barked almost constantly, and the shared balcony could not be locked securely. The air conditioning smelled, and roared like an aircraft. We didn't stay even one night. I called the owner to explain, and he said he would meet me at the room. He did not show up. The next day he suggested I come to his 'office' (in practice all he seemed to have was a mobile phone, often unanswered), but after 40 minutes looking where he suggested it was (instead of enjoying my holiday), I could not find it. Finally I insisted he come to me. I paid him €200 cash for NOT USING THE ROOMS AT ALL, then was charged MORE on my credit card. DOMUS is not a hotel, it is a DISASTER. STAY AWAY.

When we arrived Domus Sorrento was closed. We called the number which was attached to the door and then we were moved to another 'hotel' located at least 2km from city centre. The other room was old with heavy smell of bleach and with air condition not working properly. People from Domus didn't bother to find for us sth different. DO NOT GO THERE AS IT IS WASTE OF MONEY!!!!

We stayed at the Domus Sorrento in one of the green rooms away from downtown. The room itself was comfortable, clean and quiet, and the air-conditioning was very much needed and appreciated. The hotel is literally a 1-minute walk to the beach and bus stop (useful for getting you to the Circumvesuviana and downtown Piazza Tasso. For those who enjoy walking, you can walk along the beach and get to downtown Sorrento in less than 20 minutes and the beach/marina views are spectacular. We dealt exclusively with Yuri, who was a friendly and gracious host who spoke English quite well. The only negative is that breakfast was not included, quite peculiar for a "bed & breakfast" - when booking ask. All in all, the apartment was wonderful and I would highly recommend staying at Domus Sorrento.
