We booked a suite at The Duke and unfortunately as soon as we entered our room we could smell something strange. It was a sort of sewage-type smell mixed with air freshner coming from the bathroom. We did mention this to the hotel staff and no aplogogies were offered....There was obviously a problem with either this room or the plumbing... More

After crossing the Atlantic on our cruise I was looking forward to a relaxing day of rest. Booking this hotel was plain and simple. I prepaid for the hotel to get the best rate and upon our arrival the staff was both pleasent and welcoming. (A helpful hint would be to call the hotel and ask for the shuttle to... More

We were upgraded to a small suite on arrival. The room was spacious, clean and quiet. Breakfast was plentiful and varied by Italian standards. The great thing about this hotel is the friendly, professional service given by the staff. We found the reception desk staff exceptional and their language skills impressive. The location of the hotel in a quiet suburb... More

Travelled to Rome with a friend for short weekend break. Hotel is in a quiet suburb of Rome, just a short metro ride from the centre. Arrived at hotel quite late due to a flight delay, staff very welcoming advising us where to find nearest restaurants etc. We were given a good room on the 5th floor, very spacious with... More

We had a family suite. Rooms 512 & 514. Rooms are nice. Hardwood floors, granite in the bathrooms. Bidet next to the toilet. Large patio. Only issues: - WiFi was hit and miss. Password changes every 24hrs. Front Desk helped with work around. - Free shuttle only picks up/drops off at two locations in town, neither are near major sites,... More

Booked this as a backup for our Easter break in Rome, and unfortunately was unable to find anything else given the short time we had to find something. The location is not great, and the neighbouring area is very uninspiring. The shuttlebus which was at least an attempt to mitigate this was too often full. They should either have a... More

I have received several emails from various sites -- FamilyGetaway, SniqueAway, all touting this hotel. Can't understand why. We ended up booking a Family Room through Hotels.com, which on their site claims there are two double beds and two twin beds, and "Rich red furnishings on the 6th floor room." When we arrived, we were booked into the very dark... More

Stayed here in January - decent hotel although maybe a little overpiced - shuttle service to the centre was ok but we did get stranded once, made worse because every taxi driver was on strike - would still return here though More

I am pleased to say that our stay at the Duke was wonderful thanks to the staff. Two staff members stand out because of their friendliness and their helpful attitudes. The front desk folks were, in general, very helpful. However, Alessandro Biavati was particularly helpful. He was very enthusiastic and friendly. He always had a smile on his face and... More
