Agree with previous reviews that the Cicerone is in need of an upgrade-especially in the bathrooms. The towels are worn, the shower curtain not the best,no safety rail in bath.It also hadn't been cleaned very thoroughly around the washbasin, The hotel is indeed handy for many locations, especially The Vatican. We found the staff very helpful and pleasant, especially when the public printer was out... My husband and I stayed at the Cicerone Hotel in Rome two weeks ago. Although it is in a great location (can walk to the Vatican), the hotel was quite disappointing. While we were checking in, my husband needed to use the restroom in the lobby--where he found no toilet seat and the light bulbs were burned out. The rooms... More

I stayed in this hotel for a conference. Location is good, within walking distance of the center and with buslines nearby. Breakfast had enough options and was refilled. Sometimes there was a waiting line. Bathroom was good and room spacious. Negative experience was that the staff disturbed me twice in the middle of the night (2.30 and 3.30) to check... More

We booked the Cicerone because of it's location and it was billed as a 4-star property. It is not 4-star, but a dated 3-star. The rooms are beat-up and worn, greatly in need of renovation. The buffet breakfast (included in our price) was excellent and exceeded our expectations! If you need some basic, fairly clean accommodation with a good breakfast,... More

We were booked here as part of a tour group, I found the hotel to be clean, nicely furnished and reasonalbly quiet considering you're in Rome. Breakfast was included in our stay and has a good selection. Hotel is just a short walk from the subway and bus stop is across the street. Hotel staff spoke English and were friendly,... More

I was sorry to read some of the poor reviews of this hotel. Our stay was very nice. The location was great as was the price. Unfortunately, we have nothing to compare it with as it was our first time in Rome. We booked it along with airfare from Expedia and stayed in the hotel for six nights. The sheets... More

This hotel has all the bones for a first class hotel but they just haven't updated it in a long time. Rooms with dirty carpets, wallpaper pealing off the walls, no a/c therefore you have to sleep with window open which is nice on a cool night but the constant noise doesn't allow you to sleep. The staff was rude... More

This hotel has a great location and offers a great breakfast. However, the desk staff was very curt. The rooms were stuffy and if you opened the windows it was noisey. The sheets were scratchy. The hair dryers were a joke. Not as nice as other hotels on our Globus Tour. More
