We were very fortunate to find this hotel when the Commodore cancelled our reservation 2 days before we arrived. The people were very friendly & helpful, the room was small but clean & comfortable, great shower, a refrigerator, & even a balcony which we didn't have time to use. The bath towels are like sheets but they get you dry!... More

Stayed at Donatello for four nights and although not in the centre of all the touristy bits, it was a wonderful little hotel. All the staff were helpful in both hotel requests and where to visit. On foot, not that far from the attractions but use public transport for the Vatican. Good public transport from outside the hotel into the... More

We just returned from Rome yesterday after spending the last 3 nights in Italy at the Hotel Donatello and were very very disappointed. When I was planning our trip I read many reviews and even though I knew that the location wasn't the best I was led to believe that the rooms were nice and that the front desk staff... More

Mauro delightful and very helpful. Unfortunately we did not receive the same level of service from the other desk staff. Rooms needed a good airing and a good cleaning. Beds were comfortable. From the website and brochure we expected a bar and evening restaurant. Neither of which were available. More

The hotel it`s about 10 minutes walk from the underground station Manzoni. We had 2 triple rooms. One it was not a really triple room because it was very small and the third bad was introduced in the day of our arrival. The second room it was a triple one, very spacious, with three same beds and even with a... More

We spent our last night in Rome at this hotel thinking it was close to the airport(which it was not, 30 min away) The cab driver taking us to this hotel from the train termini warned us about the location... the rooms were clean , very dark and dreary looking though...bathroom was also clean and nice...staff was ok but nothing... While this family owned/operated hotel is not in the best neighborhood, it's location is great for getting around by train, tram or on foot. Nothing plush, just basic but clean and accomodating. Rooms are snug as well as baths and hot water in shower takes awhile to warm up. No washcloths and towels are more like linen tea towels but... More

We were a bit worried about some of the bad reviews, but were happy we chose this hotel. The staff was extremely nice and friendly, the rooms were not as small as expected and very quiet and clean. It doesn't offer a buffet breakfast, if anyone was expecting that :) , instead you get some croissants, bread and butter and... More

I read the reviews about how close it was to the train station. In reality it is about a 15 minute walk and you pass 50 other hotels on the way here. Everything that people said about the owners and the charm of the hotel was true. It is a really lovely, typical 3-star Italian hotel. I have stayed at... More
