Stayed here for 6 nights early May. Our first time in Rome. Great hotel situated around the corner from Campo de Fiori. Excellent vibrant area and extremely convenient location for all major city sites. 7 minute walk to Pantheon, 10 minute walk to Forum, 15 minute walk to Colloseum, 20 minutes walk to Vatican. Very friendly staff, good communications beforehand... More

Stayed at the Smeraldo Hotel in Rome in December the week before Christmas. Wonderful location; could walk (and we did!) to all of the sights; right around the corner is fabulous shopping on a Saturday morning. Small hotel with basic rooms but has good, fill you up breakfast downstairs; small shower stalls make for tight hair washing but it was... More

My husband and I spent 4 nights at Smeraldo Hotel and would definitely return. You can not beat the location. We walked everywhere, the Coliseum, the Pantheon, Trevi Fountain, the Vatican. When we first arrived I was concerned about finding our way to all the sights but the hotel check-in staff assured me we could walk to just about every... More

The Smeraldo hotel is, almost without trying, the ideal hotel for its market. Specifically, this is the urban, independent traveller who wants efficient and comfortable accomodation that gets the job done efficiently without any needless waste of space or unwanted fripperies. How does this work? I'll give my own experience as an example. Pre-check-in baggage drop: Like essentially all hotels,... More

Great location for the center of Rome! The downside is really small standard rooms, and bathrooms. For the price, you can probably deal with the confined space, if not, you should book elsewhere. Breakfast was ample and well staffed. Staff was neither very helpful nor friendly, so don't expect them to welcome you with much information when you check in,... More

Hotel was in a great location for walking to many attractions. Campo Di Fiori was great for having dinner & drinks...and people watching. There were many restaurants to choose from. Our room was very clean and the bed & pillows very comfortable, the bathroom shower was very small, you just deal with it. Our room overlooked the street and did... More

Hotel is within walking distance of many wonderful Rome sights. We enjoyed spending time at Campo Di Fiori for drinks, eats, and people watching. Room was adequate size and comfortable. Felt safe in the area. Breakfast was good but missed eggs. Staff assisted with printing of our airline boarding pass. We would stay here again.

We were very happy with our stay at the Smeraldo hotel. It is located right in the heart of all the attractions. A block from campo dofiore. We walked to the Vatican, the Jewish ghetto, Pantheon, Spanish steps, Trevi fountained. We took a cab to the coloseum , however on our return, there were no cabs / traffic allowed on... More

Location is terrific. It is walking distance to the Forum and the Vatican. The rooms are clean and the breakfast is a typical continental breakfast. It is hidden in the alleys near the Campo di Fiori. It is not the Marriott or the Holiday Inn. If that is where you usually stay you are going to be disappointed. If you... More
