Tucked away in Trastevere is the Hotel San Francesco. This place gets great points for its location and overall quality, service & attention to detail. From the simple request to leave luggage before the room was available, to the packed breakfast for our 430 am departure, the staff & management made everything easy, uncomplicated & nothing was too difficult for... In a period of 10 years this was my third stay at this hotel, that is the best recommendation possible. I first stayed here a few months after the opening and I must admit that furniture, carpets, wallpaper etc. has had its time. But bathrooms still are very nice and bright. Room vary in size, but are rather small. Important... More

Wifi unpredictable, mostly not working, terrasse only open "in summer", room not properly cleaned at arrival (e.g. half full minibar), breakfast room too small; gests had to wait to be seated, no eggs left after 9:15, and "one hour to boil new" according to personnel.

Small and quiet hotel next to a convent in the middle of Trastevere. The receptionists were all friendly and kind, breakfast very good and the hotel had fulfilled our wishes for floor and quietness. Rooms were of ok size and the bathrooms particularly were light and spacious. Excellent value for money! However, some spick and span would most certainly do... More

The hotel is In the Trastavere area, one block from the main Trastavere thoroughfare (with trams) and two blocks from the river. The Hotel is a small (24 rooms) 3 star establishment. The rooms are small but clean, functional and comfortable. The reception staff are friendly, courteous and obliging and all had excellent English. Even manning the small bar in... More

This hotel is an excellent location. Trastevere is a very nice area in Rome, with lots and lots of excellent and with Rome standards fairly cheap restaurants. We had dinner each evening in a new restaurant in the area and enjoyed all meals. And many of those meals were much cheaper than the lunches we had in some other areas... More

I'm a frequent visitor to Rome, and had never stayed in the Travastere area before - a combination of new Pope, 6 Nations rugby Italy v Ireland plus the Rome marathon all on the same weekend meant there was a huge demand for rooms. Hence my first visit to San Francesco. It's a 3 star hotel with aspirations to be... More

It was a good value hotel in a good position. Public transport in Rome is really good and cheap and Trastevere is therefore handy for everything. The service was pleasant and helpful. The receptionist even found a bar for us showing the football and told us which tram to take to get there.

We chose Hotel San Francesco after reading positive reviews on here and were not disappointed – this is a great hotel in a lively area with cobbled streets and lots of fab bars and restaurants within a few minutes’ walking distance. We had room 402 on the top floor, which was small but very clean and comfortable and had fantastic... More

Located in a great neighborhood (Trastevere) and with easy access to public transportation (tram and several bus lines stop around the corner) I stayed one night in this hotel and loved everything about it. Helpful and friendly staff available 24/7, rooms rather small but still with plenty of space to move around. The bathroom was so bright and cheerful! It... More
