Centrally located and within walking distance (20 minutes) among the major sightseeing areas. Continental breakfast served every morning in tiny lobby on linen table cloths, with silver service and fresh pastry basket. High end Italian decor. Just as in every other major international city, this hotel, at this reasonable room rate, has the draw back of being on a busy... More

We stayed on the fourth floor for 4 nights in April. The hotel is very centrally located. There is a subway station one block away but most sites are within walking distance. The hotel is very nicely decorated and it is probably one of the cleanest rooms we have stayed in! The breakfast is very good and service excellent. The... More

The hotel is central to most sites,my room was quite small for a 4 star hotel, the office staff were very helpful & friendly. The buffet breakfast did not have a lot of options with only one hot dish scrambled eggs which were cold. The waiting staff at breakfast were more interested in the TV than checking on guests. 3... The location and the interior design were the two main reasons why I chose the Stendhal. I was in room 306, a single. It is small by American standards, but probably average by European standards for a room in a major Italian tourist city. The room is nicely decorated and the staff is friendly. My room faced the back so... More

Dear Customer, many thanks for the review on the hotel Stendhal and his staff. You are right, the single room has a regular size for hotels in Italy and in Rome, but it is smaller for American standards. Of course, subject to our availability we like upgrade the single room in double single use or in bigger room; but unfortunately,... More

We chose this Hotel manly because of It's location. Besides the location that is excellent, by the way, the Hotel is very good itself. The room had a good size for Rome standards, Nice bathroom, cozy decor. After reading TA, we asked a room not facing the street. We didn't have any view but our room was very quiet. Low... More

Very good location within walking distance to Barberini – Fontana di Trevi Metro station. After you get out of the Metro find the street "Via del Tritone" which is on one end of Piazza Barberini, then you'll see the Hotel sign right there. After having booked and paid for the hotel months in advance my wife and I were surprised... More

Dear Customer, we are very sorry about your ugly impression upon the arrive in the Stendhal. The over-booking is not our policy; but sometime it is the only way to solve a daily inconvenient in a small boutique Hotel like the Stendhal. Could be an human error in reservation files, structural problems, or customers who change their stay without notifying... More

This is a great small hotel in the centre of Rome, we really couldn't fault the location of the hotel, just a five minute walk from the Spanish Steps and maybe a little further from the Trevi fountain. Close enough to walk anywhere but far enough from the crowds to feel relaxed. Our room (on the 5th floor) was of... More

We stayed for 3 nights last weekend. The room was a good size for Rome and the bed was Queen sized. However, when we came down for breakfast the first morning (10) there was very little left to eat. Dear Customer, we are sorry to not have fully satisfied your expectations. The weather in March is crazy; it is very hot or very cold, it rains for days or on sunny days to a week, but unfortunately the Stendhal has a central heating system and we can not swich off/on every day. We are sorry, but the suggestion was... More

We really enjoyed our stay here. Rooms were well appointed and the hotel was very quiet. Breakfast buffet was very good although the number of choices were slim. Very short walk to the spanish steps, and lots of really good shopping right outside the door to the hotel. Would absolutely stay here again. Much better than a larger 'chain' hotel.... More

Dear customer, Sometimes being small is an advantage. We can not have the same facilities or spaces of the big hotels, in our small way we try to offer the best service to leave a sweet memory of the trip. The staff would like to thank You. More
