Before my school trip to Italy I was a bit anxious about "Hotel" Acropoli and what it was like and seeing it in person was no better.. Situated in an "eye-opening" part of Rome City, Hotel Acropoli had it's surprises too.. Upon arrival check in was smooth but having to haul our luggage up two flights of loosely fitted marble... We've booked this hotel but after that we've read several reviews so we expected the worst but luckily we've found a pleasant surprise, first of all the location is absolutely amazing, Santa Maria Maggiore and termini are 5 mins walk, its in the center of Rome and most of the tourist places are really near! even the Vatican and the... Do not stay here. It may have the basic necessities-toilet, bed, etc. but after you see the water marks, plaster falling off the wall, loose marble on the stairs, elevator that gets stuck every so often and more importantly, the light in the toilet having no cover over it ,I'm lucky I wasn't electrocuted as it was right beside the... This has to be the worst hotel i have ever stayed in. We came here on a school tour to Italy from Ireland for 3 nights. The hotel felt unsafe and was not very welcoming. The rooms were tiny and bathrooms were filthy. Walls and bed covers were full of stains and we got one towel for 4 people every... More

My personal experience in this hotel was to say the least, terrible. The carpet in our room was stained and smelled of damp. There was also damp marks on the wall. After climbing the step to the bathroom, the shower curtain didn't even reach my knee. The shower ende up leaking all over the bathroom and rushing out through the... More

During January 2012 my friend and I traveled to Rome during a study abroad program. We booked Hotel Acropoli MONTHS in advance. Upon arrival after a 2 hour train ride from Florence we were told that the hotel had "overbooked" and we would be taken to another Hotel Acropoli in the same location close to the termini. We were taken... More

First of all, I would like to say, that this is a very serious review. I stayed on the hotel for five days and I was very dissapointed. On the first day, our shower broke and we told the hotel immediately, but it was never fixed. We were forced to borrow showers on the other rooms, because the shower on... More

I have no words, simply disguising...rooms are gruesome, service is appalling, way over priced, would not pay a cent to sleep here again. Thank god it was just for a quick sleep over before early train to Naples...nightmare!!

While other visitors have found a lot to complain about, in our experience the hotel accommodation basic but clean, and the staff friendly and helpful. In particular, one of our party left behind a jacket. On return to the UK we contacted the reception, who found the jacket –it would have been easy not to– and went out their way... More

Where to start! This hotel (if you can call it that) is a JOKE! 4 of us (women) Booked through Thomas cook, we were told the hotel was 2 stars and it looked nice! On arrival the staff were very rude and unhelpful! We got given room '206' which was on the 2nd floor. When walking up to our room... More
