Do not believe what the hotel clamis on its website. Went Feb 2010, believe what everyone says on trip advisors website. It is 45 minutes from the city, it is on a dual carraige way and it is in a red light area. The hotel is on a steep hill, so to get to the city centre, you go down... More

This was the worst "3-star" hotel I have ever stayed in, and the fact that it's not exactly cheap either doesn't help. Staff were downright rude, unfriendly and unhelpful. The room (walls and floor) was dirty and soiled, as was the bedding. The duvets had holes in them and the dirty spots on the bedding that were there when we... More

Like the rest of the reviews i agree that the description of the hotel is far fetched. However the bus stop takes a total of 5 mins to get to after coming down a small hill and crossing a road. The buses are unreliable but once youve caught the bus you need, public transport is brilliant and you can be... More

Although I read the bad reviews on this site, I went on and booked the hotel, mostly for its price (80 euros per night with breakfast for a quadruple room - we were 4, two couples). The thought was that since we would be on the streets all day, we needed the room only for a bath, a night's sleep... More

We chose this hotel because they claim it is just 10 minutes to Vatican City. Mayne with the helicopter!!!! It's 15 minutes walk to the bus station. The bus goes only 2x an hour and takes half an hour to the subway stop. From there, its' another 15 minutes to Vatican City. The bath tiles was full with molds. The... More

I was travelling with my parents, who are both in their 70s. I emailed the hotel in the morning to confirm our booking for that night. When we arrived at midnight they only had one room, not two. The receptionist didn't speak English so spent 40 minutes trying to communicate until eventually they found us another room. When I confronted... More

The most annoying part of our trip was realising when we arrived that their website was an absolute lie. It is NOT a few steps from the Vatician. It is a metro and bus trip which can take 45 minutes to get back to the hotel. We were a family of four with two children. The bedroom was nothing like... More

I stayed in Hotel Scheppers for three nights with my husband. We did not have much time to decide where to stay in Rome and made a last minute reservation. If you are looking for an inexpensive yet super clean hotel with polite staff I can recommend this place. The staff spoke very good English and were very helpful in... More

Rome. What a place. Beautiful. The people of Rome are fantastic and attempting a little Italian goes a long way. Just a shame that Scheppers Hotel, allegedly 'just a few steps from the vatican' is no where near the Vatican or the rest of the key sights of Rome. This place is virtually on the out skirts of Rome. You'll... More

We stayed at Scheppers Hotel for one night, since we arrived at Fiumicino Rome airport quite late. It's a nice, simple hotel, wirh clean rooms, tough quite unpersonal. The staff was proffesional and spoke english well. We had a rental car, since we where to drive to Tuscany the next morning. The hotel was somewhat hard to find. So i... More
