This hotel is very tired (holes in the walls, scrapes on the doors where they had previously been jimmied open) - it didn't feel safe at all. The airconditioning didn't work (should have known something was wrong when we spotted the electric fan on the dresser) and there were cobwebs in the corners of the very tiny room (supposed to... we chose this hotel as its cheap and near republica. also near the spanish steps, pantheon and shops so this is i guess its an ok accommodation in this very beautiful and historic city. quaint and antiquated elevator. the room is ok for 2 people, but the toilet is very small. friendly front desk, and they have free maps of... I spent a lot of time on tripadvisor reading about hotels and read a lot of horror stories about cheap hotels, so I was nervous about Giotto. We were a party of 5 staying in 3 rooms. We were all very happy with the hotel. The rooms was nice and big. The bathrooms and showers were OK. There was free... More

At a discount and all you need is a bed in the closet, it is ok. Felt like a Hostel more so than a hotel like many of these converted apartments in central Rome that have become many small hotels in the same building filled with young students. If you are one on a budget it is worth it. We... More

One of the worst hotel. May be good for single person as a couple cannot move in the room. The aircon never work and the sensor light remain on and off throughout the night so middle of night you feel someone is in your room. Lift is so fast that a pregnant woman can deliver the kid once she start... More

The hotel was a little too far out from St Peter's so I would suggest a hotel a little more central

I'll start with the most memorable part. In a rush to get to the train station and catch my train to Venice, I left my iPod in the room. I was without a phone for a few days, but called the hotel when I got back home to see if they had found it. Not only had they found it,... More

First, I'm not one to complain unless its really warranted. Please read my other posts to confirm this, including four other hotels we stayed at on this Italy trip (to be posted shortly). Bottom line, due to electrical problems throughout our stay, we cut our 4 day stay at GFshort, leaving after one night(mare), and moved elsewhere. The electricity went... More

We stayed at this hotel one night because it was close to Termini and we had an early trip to the airport the following day. The interior of the room was fine, but common areas were a little creepy. The entrance to the hotel almost felt unsafe at first. The reception area was dingy and dated, the elevator is extremely... More

I have found this hotel on Trip Advisor forum and was a little worried about different opinions. I made an online booking which entitled me for the 30% discount. As a result a hotel room (double), with bathroom and decent breakfast cost me per person even less than a bed in a four persons hostel room with no bathroom (68... More
