Some reviews claim you get what you pay for well beware because with this hotel that's not always the case. We paid to stay here and, like a few previous reviews, on arrival we were told to move to a different hotel. After an initial greeting we were ignored for some time by several hotel staff before we were given... More

Bare bones, but you get what you pay for in Rome. This is a fantastic location, just off the spanish steps and the room was clean and the room was a decent size. Everything in the room was funtional and they had a nice terrace to sit outside and drink wine. No thrills but a very safe bet if you... More

Before booking our hotel in Rome we spent hours on the internet going through all the hotel on various websites and in the end booked Hotel San Marco due to its location (which is less than a 5 minute walk from the train station) and the price. We weren't particularly expecting much from the hotel with the price of it... More

We booked online with this hotel based on the information they provide on their website. When we checked in, a non English speaking lady escorted us to our room which turned out to be kn the 5th floor of an apartment block around the corner from the hotel on a different street! They told us to return to the San... More

They cancelled our initial stay as they were having a water problem. But they arranged for, and paid for a replacement hotel and the cab to get us there. The replacement was a 4 star. On our return to Rome, a week later, they provided excellent accomodations. Although San Marco is billed as a 3-star, it was superior to the... More

We booked the hotel from one agency in Brazil. It was all payed already. After a long trip from Brasil to Rome we arrived at the hotel and the staff simply said they "had a problem" and had to tranffer us to another hotel! They didn't explan why and asked us to take our back and carry to the other... More

We stayed one night at Hotel San Marco after I made error in reservation at nearby Hotel Canada. Like chalk and cheese these hotels. Room good size but dark and spartan, there was second room with 2 single beds (good for family). Service good but minimal. Breakfast awful.

Definitely value for money, good location, and nice breakfast. Roma Termini is just 10 minutes away by walking. Down the hotel is a restaurant that serve nice pasta dishes with some musicians during weekend. I just fell in love with Rome and Hotel San Marco adds more spark into it. Only negative comment is the reception staff who is not... More

Night staff was rude and spoke loudly on the phone at night and the walls are paper thin. They were frugal with toilet paper (had to ask for refills) but kind enough to offer soap and body wash -often hotels in Europe do not. Replaced clean towels daily but rooms are tiny - double hardly large enough for2 adults -... More
